October Weekly Update
Week of Monday, October 20th - Friday, October 24th, 2025
📣 Families! Here's What's Happening This Week:
Welcome back for Week 9! We are another week closer to closing out our first quarter of the 2025-2026 school year. Here are some important reminders as we move into a new week!
🧑🧑🧒🧒 Parent-Teacher Conferences
- We’re excited to offer more flexible options for the PGCPS November 11th Systemic Parent Conference Day. In lieu of meeting only on November 11th, many classroom and arts teachers may offer alternative dates to meet with you, virtually, during their collaborative planning time. If your child’s teacher is offering an alternative date, they will not hold a conference on November 11th. These alternative conference dates are designed to be more parent-friendly and across multiple days. We appreciate parents recognizing that there is no way to meet with all families on one scheduled day or even with the alternative days; your understanding and flexibility is greatly appreciated.

📆 Our Schedule This Week
Tue, Oct 21 — Wear Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness
Wed, Oct 22 — Unity Day
- Wear ORANGE and take a stand against bullying!
Fri, Oct 24 — Wear your sunglasses to Shade Out Drugs!
🔔SchoolSchedules
Doors Open: 8:05 am - 8:30 am Students Late: After 8:30 am Regular Early Dismissal: Ends at 2:30 pm Regular Dismissal: Begins at 3:10 pm Dear Parents and Guardians, As we work together to provide a safe and productive learning environment for all students, we kindly ask for your cooperation regarding morning drop‐off procedures. Please do not drop off students before 8:00 a.m. unless a supervising adult is present. The school building and/or supervision of students is not guaranteed before that time. Arriving prior to 8:00 a.m. without adult supervision places students in a vulnerable position and may result in safety‐concerns. Under the policies of Prince George’s County Public Schools (“PGCPS”), leaving a child unattended in a situation where their health or welfare may be harmed is considered neglect. For example, PGCPS defines a “neglected child” as one who “is left unattended or who by the failure of the parent(s) … to give proper care and attention to the child … under circumstances that indicate that the child’s health or welfare is harmed or threatened thereby.” Prince George's County Public Schools+2Prince George's County Public Schools+2 In order to support the wellbeing of our students and comply with district policy, please plan to drop off your child at or after 8:00 a.m., when supervision begins. If you arrive earlier, please remain with your child until supervision is available. Thank you for your understanding and for partnering with us to keep our school community safe and ready for learning.

Spring 2025 MCAP Reports
Last week, your child's Spring 2025 MCAP Reports were sent home. All students in grades 4-8 should have received their reports for Math and ELA and the 6th graders also received a report for MISA.
Hopefully your child shared these reports with you. You may view additional information about the MCAP scores below:
- Letter from Mr. Richardson
- Understanding the MCAP Score Report ELA & Math (current 4th - 8th grade)
- Understanding the MCAP Score Report MISA (current 6th grade)
If your child did not bring a report home, it is because we haven't received their report from their previous school, they came from out of state, OR they did not sit for MCAP last year. Should you have any questions, please reach out to our School Testing Coordinator, Ms. Tucker.

Weekly Character Focus | October Awareness Events & November PBIS Incentive:
Dear Imagine Lincoln Community,
I hope you all had a wonderful, safe, and joyful weekend!
As we begin a new week, the PBIS Team encourages our teachers and families to discuss our Imagine Lincoln Public Charter School Core Values with our scholars. These values are at the heart of our character education program and play a vital role in fostering positive behavior and strong moral character.
Imagine Lincoln’s Core Values – S.O.A.R.S
S – Self-Discipline: Making good choices and staying focused on your goals.
O – Open-Mindedness: Being willing to listen to others and learn new things.
A – Accountability: Taking responsibility for your actions and your learning.
R – Respect: Treating others with kindness, understanding, and fairness.
S – Service (if applicable; please confirm if this is part of your SOARS acronym)
Quarter 1 Character Focus: Self-Discipline:
Our character focus for Quarter 1 is Self-Discipline—making good choices and staying focused on one’s goals. We encourage scholars to stay committed to their dreams, monitor their progress, avoid distractions, and build healthy habits that support long-term success.
A related YouTube video has been provided to reinforce this focus. (Please refer to the original communication for the link.)
This core value will remain our primary focus through October 31, 2025, though all SOARS values will continue to be reinforced throughout the school year.
October Awareness Events:
During the month of October, we are proud to recognize:
This year, Prince George’s County Public Schools has adopted the theme for Anti-Bullying Awareness:
"Together Against Bullying: UNITED for Kindness, Acceptance, and Inclusion."
This message is more important than ever, and we are proud to stand as a united, anti-bullying school that values kindness and inclusion.
A huge thank-you to everyone who supported:
Breast Cancer Awareness on Wednesday, October 14, 2025
Anti-Bullying Awareness on Thursday, October 15, 2025
November PBIS Incentive: Fall Festival:
We are excited to announce that our November PBIS incentive will be a Fall Festival on:
Friday, November 7, 2025

In order for scholars to attend, they must meet the following PBIS point requirements:
K–1st Grade: 350 points
2nd–5th Grade: 550 points
