DEER RUN PTO NEWSLETTER

Our hearts are full as we look back on an incredible Deer Run Run! The kids brought their spirit and determination to the Grizzell track on a beautiful sunny day and we are thrilled to share that we meet our 2025 fundraising goal and collected over 4300 food items for Feed the Kids Columbus. Thank you to all of our sponsors, volunteers, teachers, staff, and Deer Run families for your generosity and support this year! We could not have done it without you!

The Deer Run students were able to spend some time in our new outdoor classroom learning about plants, bugs, and animals with Jared the Nature Guy! The PTO was happy to support this awesome and interactive learning opportunity!

Our fall PTO GENERAL MEETING will be Monday, October 13th in the Deer Run commons.

We will be discussing the PTO's plans for the coming year. We hope to see you there!

We are partnering with our local Papa Johns (7172 Muirfield Drive) for a fundraiser on Tuesday, October 14th. 20% of sales will be donated to the DRE PTO!

This year's Leeds Farm event will be Friday, October 24th from 6-8pm!

Join your Deer Run friends for an evening of fall fun, including hay rides, corn cribs, pedal carts, slides, and the popular pumpkin jump! Food will be available for purchase from Chick-fil-a!

Tickets are $15 per person at the door, kids 2 and under are free.

** This is not a drop off event - parents/guardians must supervise their children for the entire event!

This includes grandparents and other family members. Unfortunately we cannot allow last minute substitute volunteers in place of those signed up for parties if they have not completed the background check process. Thank you for your understanding. There is additional information on the background check process below, and please contact Mrs. Guthrie in the front office if you have any questions!

REMINDER: ALL parent/family members that wish to volunteer for the 2025-2026 school year will need to have a completed background check on file with the district. This will apply to classroom volunteers, PTO events, field trips and any other school event. This online process is quick, secure and free for applicants. Click button below to complete the process!

PLEASE NOTE: If any family member, other than a parent, is applying to volunteer please inform Carol Guthrie at guthrie_carol@dublinschools.net to ensure a timely approval!

CURRENT VOLUNTEERS: Be sure to double check the expiration date on your volunteer card. You cannot "renew" your card and instead must complete the background check process again before it expires. Thank you for attending to this well in advance of your volunteering date.

Are you willing to help the PTO on events throughout the year? "PTO Helping Hands" is a great way to get involved without making a long term commitment. If we are running short on volunteers for an event or have a small ask here or there, we will reach out to this list. Please sign up at the link below!

There are a number of after school classes available for our Deer Run students, including art, robotics, fashion, engineering, and drama - there is something for everyone! Visit this link for registration information!

Are you signed up for "Kroger Community Rewards"? With a few simple steps, you can link your Kroger Shop Card to Deer Run and a small donation will be made to our school every time you shop. It does not cost you anything and it does not pull from your rewards.

Follow these steps to sign up -

1. Sign in to your digital Kroger account on the app or your computer.
2. In the drop down on the left hand side, Find "Rewards", then select "Community Rewards". On the website, click on "My Account" under your name, and then select "Community Rewards".
3. Search for "Deer Run Elementary School", select, and click "Save". Your selected organization will now display in the Kroger Community Rewards section of your account.
