Dear Lebanon Community,

As February begins and the days get incrementally longer, I want to thank our community for your continued support. Across the state, public schools are navigating a range of financial realities as communities prepare for March elections. In Lebanon, conversations have been guided by our strategic plan and a shared commitment to providing students with meaningful learning experiences that help them think critically, communicate effectively, act responsibly, and build empathy and resilience.

As we look ahead, we remain focused on thoughtful planning, transparency, and collaboration, with students at the center of every decision. I am grateful for the partnership with our families, staff, and community members, and for your ongoing commitment to supporting our schools and students.

Thank you for your continued involvement in the Lebanon School District.

Sincerely,

Amy Allen

Superintendent

Lily Scott is a 3rd grader at Hanover Street School whose courage and resilience inspire us all. Lily was recently nominated by her care team at Boston Children’s Hospital for Make-A-Wish, a well-deserved honor. Her dream is to ride a horse on the beach, and on her 10th birthday, Lily will travel to Turks and Caicos to make that dream come true. We are so proud of Lily and wish her a truly magical adventure!

A teacher at HSS sent in the following: "I would like to nominate Saanvi Shetye. She is an unbelievable reader! On a school day, she reads 2-3 chapter books. On a day when she isn’t at school, she can read up to 15 chapter books a day! It’s astounding!" Good job, Saanvi! We're so impressed with your love of books.

Walking With Purpose: Ms. Bailey Gibbons Makes a Difference

An administrator at LMS sent in the following shout-out: "Ms. Bailey Gibbons is a dedicated, compassionate paraeducator who is always a positive and inspiring presence at LMS. She works tirelessly each day to help students see the best in themselves, while pushing them to reach their full potential. She mainly works with 5th grade students. Some students in upper grades get to choose positive rewards when they have good behavior. Several of these students request to go visit with Ms. Gibbons or to go on a walk with her as their reward. She shows such excitement in seeing these students, and I can tell it makes their days. In the classroom, she gets to know her students so that she can best serve them. She brings such positivity for students and staff alike, and we are grateful to have her at LMS!"

Our Mission: Educating Learners for a Changing World Our Mission: Educating Learners for a Changing World

We are pleased to announce that the School Board recently approved the school district's new mission statement, which reflects the Lebanon School District’s unwavering commitment to every student, every day. Rooted in our Vision of a Learner, it captures our belief that success means more than academic achievement—it means developing the whole child.

Across our four schools, students are encouraged to challenge themselves, grow with confidence, and build the skills they need to thrive. By fostering critical thinking, effective communication, responsible decision-making, and empathy, we prepare learners for meaningful participation in their communities and the wider world.

We are committed to ensuring every student is challenged to reach their fullest potential. Guided by our Vision of a Learner, we promise to deliver an education that builds strong, confident, and competitive learners, who are prepared to think critically, communicate effectively, act responsibly, and demonstrate empathy and resilience in a rapidly changing world.
