2026/27 School Year - Issue 3
A BIG "THANK YOU" FROM MR. LIVESAY
A heartfelt thank you to all of our families and students who attended our 6th Grade & New Student Orientation on August 13! It was wonderful to shake hands with so many parents and meet so many of our students. We were thrilled to see the excitement as our newest Blue Devils prepare to begin their journey at North Middle!
Our staff did an amazing job preparing their classrooms in just two short days, and we hope your few minutes with us were both informative and exciting. We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back for an incredible school year!
IMPORTANT REMINDER BEFORE AUGUST 20th!
Please don't forget to complete the online Annual Update form for EACH student in your family before the first day of school, August 20 (linked below).
Keeping this information current is especially important in case of an emergency. Completing the Annual Update also ensures that the primary and secondary caregivers listed for your child have the opportunity to receive important text and email notifications from the school system, including:
- Bus schedule changes
- Weekly school news
- Emergency weather closings and other important announcements
This is information every parent needs to have, so please don't delay! Complete the Annual Update form linked below before Thursday, August 20—the first day of school.
We look forward to working with your child and making this a wonderful school year!
Welcome to North Middle School!
— Mr. Livesay, Principal
DOWNLOAD THE BCS APP FOR NEWS & UPDATES
The BCS app combines news, announcements, and events in one convenient location - the BCS App. Enable notifications for schools of your choice. App pushes may also be used in cases of emergency. If you download the app, make sure you select Martinsburg North Middle School as one of the schools from which you wish to receive messages.
BUS ROUTE INFORMATION
One of the questions we heard frequently during orientation was, “Which bus will my child ride?”
Our Transportation Department can help you find that information quickly! Click the link below and enter your home address. Once your address appears, select it and then choose your child’s school. You’ll be able to see your child’s bus number and the approximate time the bus will arrive each day.
It’s a quick and easy way to make sure you’re ready for the first day of school!
With the Edulog Parent Portal app, you can see the GPS location of your child’s school bus and receive a push notification when the bus is approaching your stop. You can also set up additional locations—such as your child’s school or neighborhood entrance—to receive notifications when the bus reaches those areas.
Want to know where the bus is? Now you can! Click the link below to learn more about the Edulog Parent Portal and download the app for your smartphone.
DROPPING OFF/ PICKING UP STUDENTS FROM NMS
If you plan to bring your student to school in the morning or pick them up in the afternoon, please use the access road between the Rec center on Woodbury Ave and North Middle School. NO PARENTS SHOULD ENTER THE MAIN ENTRANCE AT THE FRONT OF THE BUILDING. We also ask you not to park in the side parking lots in the morning due to limited parking. Teachers need to be able to park and get to class in the mornings. If you need to park for some reason, please do so in the Rec center parking lot and have your child walk across the field. Please see the aerial photo below for directions.
Remember, students are not to enter the building until 7:15am. Please do not drop off your child earlier than 7:15am. If a student does arrive prior to that time, they MUST report to the main entrance where they can be supervised.
SCHOOLOGY PARENT ACCOUNTS
Want to keep up with your child's grades throughout the school year? Make sure you have a Schoology Parent Account!
If you already created a Schoology parent in a previous year (even in Intermediate school), you're all set! Your account will automatically allow you to view your child's grades this school year as well. If you've never created a Schoology Parent Account, don't worry—we're here to help! During the first week of school, your child will bring home a letter with step-by-step instructions and a unique access code. Anyone with the access code on the letter can use it to create a parent account.
Need a little extra assistance? Our Technology Systems Specialist, Ms. Deavers, will be available during Back to School Night on Tuesday, August 13, from 5:00–7:00 PM to answer questions and help families set up their accounts.
A Schoology Parent Account is the easiest way to stay informed about your child's academic progress all year long. We look forward to partnering with you for a successful school year!
