Good Morning,

Be sure to check out the informational video included in this week's newsletter located below. In this video you will learn about entering the driveway for drop off and parking, meeting spots for drop off and pick up, safey, the front entrance and get a glimpse of the progress happening in our school.

We look forward to meeting families on Wednesday evening for Parent Orientation. Please enter through door #7 which is off of Academy Ave. This meeting will start in the auditorium. Parent Orientation is for parents/guardians only. During this evening you will meet your child's teacher, see the newly renovated PreK, have opportunities to ask questions and complete important forms that will be needed before your child starts school. WECC Parent Council, SEPAC and Champions will all have tables set up outside the auditorium, we hope you take the time to stop in to visit.

Thursday and Friday's student orientation days will be a special time for you and your preschooler to see the classroom, meet the staff and your child will get to meet their new classmates. We ask that you do not bring other children to this event as space is limited.

Parking:

Below you will find an aerial map of the building. Outlined in Blue you will see the driveway (horseshoe) for parking to drop off and pick up your child. All students must be walked up to Door #2. Staff members will be out front to meet and greet students and their families. We will have designated staff spots for drop off and pick up so that you know where to greet your child each day.

Traffic into the horseshoe will need to be single file. When parking, we ask that you park on the right hand side. Upon arrival you must pull all the way around the horseshoe to allow for other cars to park behind you so that we accomodate a spot for as many families as possible.

For families that know they will struggle with students transitioning into school, there are a few parking spots directly in front of the Abigail Adams building OR there are family spots in the lot off of Academy Ave. (WECC front entrance) We have identified the first row of parking spots for families only. There are handicap accessible spaces and 4 additional spots for visitor parking, directly in front of the main entrance of WECC.

Drop off and pick up may have some bumps during the first weeks of school. These bumps should be fleeting as we all learn the new routines. If you worry about getting stuck in the lot and need to be on the road quickly, you may want to consider parking out on Academy Ave. or Middle St. Please drive slowly, as safety is a top priority!

Playground:

Thank you to Mayor Hedlund and Chief of Staff Langill for your collaboration and support in working diligently with the WPS Administrative Team and the WECC Parent Council to identify funding for our soon to be new playground. We know the many benefits of quality time outside at the playground and the critical skill development that occurs such as social skills, problem solving, dexterity, postural control, muscle strength, balance, etc..

Safety:

We ask that parents, guardians or anyone you place on your child's pick up list have a picture ID with them. As we get to know our families and caregivers, we may ask for an ID, to verify our caregivers.

Tuition:

If you choose to mail your tuition, please be sure to address the envelope with Weymouth Early Childhood Center or WECC at 89 Middle St. Weymouth, 02189

The drop box is now available at door #7. Please label your envelope with WECC C/O Maura Perez. Cash will not be accepted if you choose to drop off at the Admin. Offices.
