Teaching and Learning Highlights
Middle School
Mr. Bodzo's 6th grade students worked in small groups this week to create anchor charts showing the water cycle. We loved seeing how well these students worked together to show their understanding. Keep up the great work! 🌟
High School
This week in Ms. Garth’s Sociology class, students explored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in honor of his birthday. They learned in depth about Dr. King’s contributions to the Civil Rights Movement and were assigned a project examining when and how his birthday became a national holiday recognized in all 50 states.
Students were also introduced to the film Selma, which deepened their understanding of Dr. King’s leadership during the historic Selma-to-Montgomery marches. Using sociological concepts and skills learned so far this year, students analyzed the behaviors, social impacts, and lasting effects of the marches on the population and the movement’s cause.
Thank you, Ms. Garth, for providing our students with a wealth of knowledge about our rich history and for fostering meaningful discussion and critical thinking in the classroom. Go Eagles! 🦅
🌟 Student of the Week 🌟
Eagle Athlete Caught in the Act! 🦅
Our Student of the Week goes to sophomore athlete Fra’Jon Bennett! Fra’Jon was spotted diligently completing his school assignments before traveling for this week’s basketball game against Cross High School. This moment highlights Fra’Jon’s commitment to putting academics before athletics. Way to go, Fra’Jon, for setting the Eagle standard and shining not only as a basketball player, but as a star athlete and honor student!

📓Social-Emotional Learning Update📓
Control Vs. Not Control
This week for our Social-Emotional Learning lesson, middle school students were given a writing prompt focused on identifying the things in life they can control versus those they cannot control. Students were encouraged to reflect on the skills they will continue to use to manage their thoughts, actions, and decisions, as well as strategies for handling situations beyond their control.
We appreciate all of our students who thoughtfully engaged in this activity to support their well-being and promote positive growth in attitude and behavior.
