What's Happening
🌟 Dear 1st Grade Families 🌟
We hope this message finds you well! Just a quick reminder to send in your family pictures if you haven't already done so. These pictures are an important part of our classroom community, and the kids love seeing familiar faces around the room!
Also, please make sure to check your child's special's rotation. If you're unsure of your child's specials' group, feel free to reach out to his or her teacher for clarification.
Lastly, just a friendly reminder that there is no school for students tomorrow.
Enjoy the long weekend!
With love,
Your First Grade Teachers

Students also expand on their understanding of authority figures to include an understanding of the role of public officials. In this unit students learn about how rules and laws create order in the classroom, the school and in the community and the role public officials play in creating order in communities
Science
Matter:
Objects, objects everywhere!
We start our year in first grade by learning what a scientist is and how we stay safe in the classroom when doing experiments. Then we will test our new skills as we explore the properties of matter of objects that surround us.
In Science we are going to start learning about Matter. Our focus in the upcoming week will be to learn how to identify, describe, and demonstrate safe practices during classroom and field investigations. We have lots of question that we ask and explore with but essential questions we will be looking at are:
What properties of an object can be changed and how?
How are parts and a whole connected?
How do I classify objects?
We want students to be able to demonstrate that a whole object is a system made of organized parts and that some objects can be taken apart and put back together again. We also want them to be able to observe and classify objects by physical properties including shape, color, and texture, and by physical attributes.
Specials' Rotation
Snacks
Please send your child with at least two healthy snacks each day. Healthy snacks provide the energy and nutrients our students need to stay focused and engaged throughout the day. By choosing nutritious options, we can help our kids maintain steady energy levels, support their growth, and encourage lifelong healthy habits.
Thank you for your support!
