2. Calendar for the '26-'27 School Year

This is the 2026-2027 DSISD Academic Calendar. I hope this calendar will assist you in planning trips or time out of school during the 2026-2027 school year.

Daily attendance is vital to student success in education and socialization. When students are absent, they miss critical learning, time to gain social skills, and opportunities to form relationships with peers and teachers, and it can often cause undue stress and anxiety for kids. Absenteeism also places a tremendous strain on students and teachers as they attempt to make up missed instruction and school work.

Please consider the 2026-2027 school calendar when planning vacations and/or time away from school, and try to align them with the planned school holidays shown on the 2026-2027 DSISD Academic Calendar.

We love having your kids in school every day, so thank you for your partnership in ensuring their success through their attendance at school.

3. Schoolinks Information:

  • Students still have access to Schoolinks that includes interest inventories as well as all kinds of information. This is the tool students will use to enter their course selections for the high school. High School counselors will be working with kids this week to begin the course selection process through Schoolinks.

  • Schoolinks are not just for students! Parents have the opportunity to have your own login and explore College and Career options for your child.

    • More information here: Schoolinks Quick Start Guide or Course Guide

4. DSHS Counseling Website

  • Calling All Incoming Freshmen!
The DSHS FFA Chapter and the Agricultural Science Program are excited to welcome new students for the upcoming school year! Joining FFA opens the door to hands-on learning, leadership opportunities, and the exciting chance to raise and exhibit livestock projects.

Students interested in participating in livestock shows or learning more about FFA are encouraged to visit with the agriculture teachers to explore their options. Our ag teachers are happy to answer questions about purchasing animals, project timelines, and requirements for using the school agricultural barn and facilities.

Getting started early is key to a successful project, so don’t miss this opportunity to learn more and get involved. We can’t wait to welcome the next generation of DS FFA Chapter members!
