Kewaskum Elementary School Vision and Mission Statement
The vision of Kewaskum Elementary School is to guide our students to be respectful, hopeful, compassionate, and responsible individuals who recognize and take ownership in their educational journey.
The mission of Kewaskum Elementary School is to develop the whole child by providing an engaging and nurturing environment through high-quality teaching and learning.
KES Vision of a Learner
At Kewaskum Elementary, we believe every child can grow into a confident, caring, and capable learner. Our Vision of a Learner outlines the important skills and habits that help students succeed in school and in life.
This vision grows with your child from 4K through 5th grade, focusing on eight key areas:
✅ Community Contributors – caring, respectful, and responsible members of their community.
✅ Effective Communicators – share ideas clearly and listen to others.
✅ Creative Problem Solvers – think critically and find solutions.
✅ Resilient Learners – persevere, try new things, and learn from mistakes.
✅ Digital Citizens – use technology responsibly.
✅ Healthy Individuals – practice self-care, good habits, and balance.
✅ Responsible Collaborators – work well with peers and adults.
✅ Future Focused – set goals and dream big.
How Families Can Help at Home
Here are a few simple ways you can support the Vision of a Learner outside of school:
Encourage Independence – Let your child pack their backpack, tie shoes, or manage simple chores.
Talk About Growth Mindset – Praise effort, persistence, and trying new things.
Build Healthy Routines – Prioritize 9–12 hours of sleep and active play every day.
Model Kindness & Respect – Show how to handle conflicts and treat others with care.
Limit Screen Time – Support healthy technology use by setting clear limits.
Celebrate Goals – Ask your child about their hopes, dreams, and what they’re working toward at school.
Question for the Monthly Focus
September – Responsible Collaborators
Students practice sharing, taking turns, and working together.
Ask your child: “Who did you help today?”
Dismissal
Thank you and a Reminder
We want to thank all of our families for your patience and support as we continue to fine-tune our dismissal process. The first weeks of school always bring a few adjustments, and we truly appreciate your cooperation in helping keep things running smoothly and safely for our students.
As a reminder, for the safety of all children, please do not walk across the playground during dismissal. Using the designated pick-up areas helps us keep students safe and ensures that our dismissal process remains orderly.
Thank you again for your partnership in making each day a safe and positive experience for our students!
