Eagles Exclamation
November, 2026
November Principal Message
Greetings From PVMS
Dear Prairie View Families,
As we begin November, I am grateful for the students, staff, and families who make Prairie View such a caring community. Thank you for the many ways you support our school and one another. This month, we encourage our Eagles to put gratitude into action—by including a classmate, thanking someone who helps them, or lending a hand to someone in need. Small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.
The Illinois School Report Card designations were released on Friday. We are pleased with Prairie View's designation of Approaching Exemplary. This recognition reflects the hard work of our students, the dedication of our staff, and our strong partnership with families. We celebrate this achievement while continuing to strive for an Exemplary designation next year.
Parent-teacher conference sign-ups open November 2. Conferences are a valuable opportunity to connect with your child's teachers, celebrate successes, discuss areas for growth, and strengthen our partnership.
This November, we will honor the service and sacrifices of our veterans through a Veterans Day door-decorating contest, photographs displayed in our foyer recognizing students' family members who have served, and a schoolwide assembly on Friday, November 13. These activities offer meaningful opportunities for students to learn about service, express appreciation, and recognize the veterans connected to our Prairie View community.
It is a privilege to serve as principal of Prairie View Middle School. Thank you for sharing your children with us and for helping make Prairie View a place where students feel supported, valued, and inspired to help others.
Sincerely,
Maura R. Baskovich

Celebrating Our School’s Success!
I’m excited to share that our school earned an Approaching Exemplary Profile of Performance on the 2025-26 Illinois School Report Card. WE are incredibly proud of our students and staff for the hard work they put in each day, and grateful to our families for the support and partnership you provide along the way.
This recognition is an important milestone, and we look forward to building on this progress as we continue helping every student learn, grow, and succeed.
The Words We Use Shape Culture
The Words We Use Shape Culture
Children learn about kindness and respect by watching the adults around them.
The conversations we have at home and at school help shape how children see themselves and others. When we model empathy, encouragement, and respectful communication, we help build a stronger school community.
Thank you for partnering with us in creating a culture where every child feels valued.
Remember: You Matter. We All Belong.
