IMPORTANT: End of Year Medication Pickup Notice

As the school year winds down, we need to coordinate the return of any remaining medications your child has at school. Any medication not classified as a controlled substance may be sent home with a student only if the student's parent/guardian provides written permission for the student to receive the medication, or if the student is over 18 years of age. A parent must arrange pick up for any controlled substances directly with the nurse.

Please email nurse@bluehills.org if you have any questions. Meds not picked up on or before Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 11 am will be discarded.

Blue Hills Students Traveled to Atlanta for SkillsUSA National Conference

Last week, Ayla Duros and Meaghan Walsh traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, to participate in the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference, one of the nation's largest showcases of career and technical education excellence.

Ayla competed in the Technical Computer Applications competition, demonstrating technical skills, professionalism, and dedication while competing against some of the nation's top students in the field. The experience provided an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a national setting while connecting with other talented competitors from around the country.

Meaghan served as a Massachusetts voting delegate, representing the Commonwealth during the national conference's official business sessions. As a delegate, Meaghan participated in discussions and voting that helped shape the future direction of SkillsUSA at the national level.

Throughout the week, both students attended leadership activities, networked with peers from across the country, traded state pins with fellow competitors, and explored the Atlanta area. These experiences allowed them to build new friendships, strengthen leadership skills, and gain valuable insight into career opportunities.

Participation in the SkillsUSA National Leadership & Skills Conference is a tremendous accomplishment and reflects the hard work, commitment, and professionalism these students have demonstrated throughout the school year. Blue Hills Regional Technical School is proud of their efforts and the positive manner in which they represented both our school and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on the national stage.

Teamwork. Creativity. Innovation.

Our freshmen in Design & Visual Communications (DVC) and Engineering are wrapping up the year by presenting their Team Collaboration Final Projects!

Throughout this project, students worked together to develop ideas, solve problems, communicate effectively, and bring their concepts to life. From creative design solutions to innovative engineering concepts, these presentations showcase the power of collaboration and the skills our students have developed throughout their freshman year.

We are proud of their hard work, dedication, and willingness to learn from one another. Congratulations to all of our freshmen on a successful year of exploration and growth!

New England Track Championship New England Track Championship

Junior Nailani Ridore and Senior Jiai Gonzalez traveled to North Berwick, Maine to represent Blue Hills and the state of Massachusetts at the New England Track and Field Championship meet. The meet accepts the top six entrants from each of the six New England states so just qualifying for the meet is a huge accomplishment.

Nailani Ridore became the first Blue Hills female track athlete to compete in the meet and had a tremendous day, finishing an impressive 2nd place overall in the triple jump.

Jiai Gonzalez made his second career appearance at the meet competing in the 400 meters. Jiai improved upon last year’s performance, competing against a strong field and finishing 4th overall.

From framing to wiring, they're building more than projects; they are building the skills, communication, and work ethic that will power their futures.

Attendance Policy Attendance Policy

A student will be required to attend summer school upon the accumulation of sixteen

(16) absences in order to fulfill BHR attendance requirements. An additional course will

be required for every five (5) absences accumulated after (16). All such courses must

be taken at the Blue Hills Regional Summer School. All course subjects must be

approved by the (ARB) Academic Review Board. If a student is absent on consecutive

days, it will be counted as one day’s absence if accompanied by a doctor’s note. Notes

must be provided within one week of the student’s return to school. All notes must be

originals with an authorized signature and date(s) on the doctor’s office stationery.

The student’s home phone number and homeroom must be on all doctors’ notes.

Absences on special days, assemblies, etc. will be counted as a full day’s absence. A

student must be in attendance for at least half the school day to be counted present.

Half the school day means being in school from 7:47 am to 11:00 am or 11:00 am to

2:20 pm. Participation in co-curricular and extracurricular activities may be denied or

removed at the Assistant Principal’s discretion for excessive absence. Two dismissals

will equal one absence. Four tardy arrivals after 8:30 will equal one absence. All

out-of-school suspensions will be counted day for day towards a student’s maximum

number of absences.

To receive course credit, students will be required to make up all missed work. All work

must be made up within three weeks. Extenuating circumstances will be addressed on

a case by case basis by the (ARB) Academic Review Board. Family vacations will not be

considered extenuating circumstances and will not be excused.
