The Jaguar Pride Weekly Update #13
November 2nd, 2026
PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
๐ Junkins Elementary Staff Welcome to Week 13! ๐
๐ Full-Day 3-6 PLC Days Are Comingโฆ Let's Make Every Minute Count! ๐
Our upcoming Full-Day Professional Learning Community (PLC) Days are an incredible opportunity to do some of the most important work we have as educators: intentionally planning for student success. These days are not simply about completing tasks. They are about using our collective expertise to ensure that every student receives high-quality instruction, targeted support, and meaningful learning experiences.
Throughout the day, we will dive deeply into assessment data, analyze student work, unpack standards, and collaboratively design lessons that are aligned, rigorous, and responsive to student needs. Every conversation, every plan, and every decision should answer one essential question:
"What do our students need most, and how will we ensure they get it?"
By the end of our PLC day, we will have accomplished meaningful work that directly impacts classroom instruction, including:
โ
Four weeks of lesson plans aligned to upcoming learning objectives
โ
Targeted intervention and enrichment plans for LABs
โ
Aligned checks for understanding and assessment tools
โ
Exemplars and instructional resources ready for immediate implementation
Our agenda is designed to move us from analyzing where students are today to planning where they need to go next. We will spend time examining a variety of data including students' half band goals, developing instructional sequences, creating differentiated supports, and rehearsing key instructional moments so that we enter our classrooms feeling confident and prepared.
As you prepare for the day, we will bring/review:
- Current SMC and Power DOL assessment reports
- Student work samples
- Curriculum resources
- Upcoming texts/exemplars
- Laptop
- Existing lesson plans
This day is an investment in our students and in one another. The strength of our instruction grows when we collaborate, challenge our thinking, share best practices, and remain focused on student outcomes. Together, we have the opportunity to create learning experiences that accelerate achievement and ensure every child reaches their full potential.
Let's arrive ready to engage, collaborate, problem-solve, and create. The work ahead is important, and I am excited to see the impact it will have on our students in the weeks to come.
We are not just planning lessons; we are planning opportunities for students to thrive.
Let's make it a powerful day of learning and collaboration!
