Ott's Outlook
May 2019
It’s hard to believe that the school year will wrap up in 31 days. As we begin to see the finish line, we will celebrate our students’ accomplishments through multiple recognition ceremonies during the month. This is one of my favorite times of the year. Our students are truly incredible! For some, they will be the first person in their family to walk across the graduation stage and earn their diploma. For others, they will celebrate achieving at the top of their class earning countless advanced academic honors. For others, the success may be more subtle in that they have been inspired, motivated, and empowered to achieve more than they ever thought possible—that is our mission and how powerful it is to see it become a reality!
As proud as I am of our students, I am equally proud of our staff, families, and community partners who have supported them along the way. Investing in our students is the single most important action that we can take to impact student success. The old adage “people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care” is fundamentally true when it comes to our students. Investing in students demonstrates that they are cared for and this can take on many different forms. From designing lessons that connect to their interests to asking about their day to ensuring that they have the best resources possible, every one of these actions makes a difference in our students’ lives.
Thank you to each person that has invested in our students this year. You have helped to instill the value of learning in our future leaders and that makes for a bright future!
