We are to the last full week of school! Just a reminder, our last day is Thursday, May 16th. We are looking forward to spending the next week and a half with your student and continuing to work hard and have fun!

1st Grade Field Trip: We had to move the 1st grade field trip to Tuesday, May 7th!

Students and staff absolutely loved the Kansas Corn presentation by Ms. Kelli! She did an excellent job sharing all about agriculture with us!

1st graders are watching the development of their dirt babies and their chicks hatching! On May 1st the first two chicks hatched! What an exciting day it was!

Thank you to the amazing students and staff we have here at Waterville Elementary! I am blessed to work with each and every one of you!

It was a great week at Blue Rapids Elementary! The students and teachers have been working hard to finish the year strong. I want to say that I was super impressed with the effort and attitude of the students at the Charles Steele Play Day. I just loved seeing the high fives and fist pounds and all the great encouragement and positivity! With that said, we are down to the last two weeks of school, please take note of the important dates listed below.

Summer is right around the corner and we're gearing up for Camp Exploration to head into orbit! Registration is now open for Valley Heights students currently in Kindergarten through 6th grade. We look forward to another great summer!

We had a great day at Charles Steele Play Day today! Thank you to everyone that helped out and that came to support our students! Special thanks to a local donor who provided K-State Call Hall ice cream for all students and staff!

Charles Steele was an elementary principal at Valley Heights for several years. His passion was for educating the whole child, including academics, sports, and extracurricular activities. In his early years of administration, he started an annual play day. After his passing, the event was named Charles Steele Play Day.

Each day in the elementary schools, we teach our students how to have purposeful interactions and goals. We believe that having a common purpose will promote the academic and social emotional well-being of each student. We teach students the VHS model.

To celebrate students accomplishing these things, we have created positive office referrals, with VHS tickets. Teachers and staff hand out VHS tickets when they see a student doing the right thing.
