Mission Statement
As a Catholic community of faith, the mission of Saint John Nepomuk Catholic School is to model the gospel teachings of Jesus Christ and the principles of the Catholic Church. We are committed to the education and development of life-long learners and leaders.
All Saints Day!- Holy Day of Obligation
Students are allowed to wear either their Mass uniform or they may dress as a Saint. If they choose to dress up as a Saint, they must dress as the person and NOT what they represent. For example, if they want to be Saint Sebastian (the patron saint of athletes), they dress as Saint Sebastian the person and not their favorite sports player or wear their sports uniform. If they want to be Saint Francis of Assisi they dress as the actual person and not like a wolf or another animal. Students can bring accessories but cannot bring weapons. For example, Saint Francis may bring a stuffed bear but Saint Michel cannot bring a sword. All uniform guidelines must be met with costumes in regards to footwear, strap widths, leggings, etc. When in doubt, ask or leave it out.
Assembly
We will have an "All School Assembly" next Thursday, November 7th, at 8am.

Baseball
2025 CCYO Baseball (6th, 7th and 8th)
The pre-season information meeting for those interested in playing baseball will be Thursday November 7th @ 6:30 at the baseball field on the campus of Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School, 801 N.W. 50th Street, Oklahoma City, OK. Practice start date (in 2025) will be announced at the meeting and practices will be held at McGuinness.
7th-8th Grade program*
We model this program after the high school system so there will be a Varsity team and JV team and two games will usually be played, Varsity is game one and JV is game two. Some Varsity players may be held to play in the second game. No team is set in stone so there is opportunity for guys to move across teams based on performance and attitude. Fee for 7th and 8th is $200 and is due at the start of the season.
6th Grade program (Futures Program)*
The 6th grade program is a developmental program and offered at a reduced fee. We see our 6th graders as our Futures Program and we want to give them the ability to work in with other players they will have the opportunity to play with in high school and develop skills they will need as they progress in the game. Because 6th grade is not typically associated with any other school organized baseball program we can only offer practice and a potential of 2 games. Fee for 6th grade is $100 and is due at the start of the season.
*Like in high school, neither program is a pay to play program. While we will do our best to get everyone playing time, it is not guaranteed. Our goal is to teach the fundamentals that they will need to be competitive at the high school level, and have some fun.

Safe and Sacred
Dear Parents,
We are writing to inform you about special curriculum material we will be teaching as part of your child’s regular religious education in the upcoming weeks. The Church desires to help you keep your children safe. The Archdiocese of Oklahoma City is requiring that all young people participating in religious education in any parish or Catholic school receive instruction in protecting themselves from abuse as well as how to communicate potential danger to appropriate adults. The Archdiocese requires that these programs be offered annually to children of all grades. This year, the Archdiocese will be using the Safe & Sacred program from “Proud to Protect” for the students’ classroom component.
The bishop’s document, titled,” Promise to Protect, Pledge to Heal, Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People” gives the following instruction: “Dioceses will establish safe environment programs that will provide education and training for children, youth, parents, ministers, and others about ways to make and maintain a safe environment for children.”
The students attending St. John Nepomuk Catholic School will receive this instruction beginning as early as October 28th, 2024 within their Religion class. If you choose not to have your child(ren) participate in the Safe Environment curriculum on the scheduled dates, the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City requires you to complete an Opt-Out Form. Those can be obtained from the school office.
Please feel free to contact myself or your child’s religion teacher during school office hours if you have any questions or concerns. The following page provides instructions to preview any of the Safe Environment curriculum online. For copyright purposes, the files may not be downloaded or printed.
In Christ,

Accelerated Reader
Dear Parents,
We use a software program called Renaissance at school to take Accelerated Reader (AR) quizzes. This program has a special feature called Home Connect, which you can access outside of school from any computer with an internet connection. Home connect allows you to view information about your child's progress in the AR program and even allows you to see what books they have taken tests on. Through the program you can sign up to receive email notifications when your child completes an accelerated reader quiz at school. This will NOT ALLOW quizzes to be taken at home.
TO LOG IN TO HOME CONNECT
Website: https://global-zone52.renaissance-go.com/studentprogress/homeconnect?t=217715
Username and Password: These will be the same ones your child uses at school and are unique to each child.
If you have any troubles logging in or your child does not remember their user name and password please contact Mrs. Crumley. She can answer any questions you have about the program or content you see. Thank you!
