Maple Run Connection: A Busy Week Across Our Schools
Happy Monday, Maple Run Community,
It’s been a busy week across our schools, and I want to take a moment to recognize the hard work of our students, staff, and families.
Spring sports are now underway across the district. It’s always great to see our students back on the fields, courts, and tracks, working together, building skills, and representing their schools.
At the same time, students at BFA, FCS, SACS, and SATEC have been focused on state testing. This takes time, energy, and perseverance, and we appreciate the effort students are putting in each day, along with the support from staff and families.
We also had a strong School Board meeting midweek. Thank you to those who attended and shared their perspectives, community voice is an important part of the work we do.
On Friday, we recognized School Librarian Appreciation Day. Our librarians play an important role in supporting students and fostering a love of reading, and we are grateful for all they do.
As we head into the week ahead, I encourage you to:
- Check in with your child and how they’re doing during testing
- Take time to support or attend a spring sports event
- Thank a staff member who makes a difference in your child’s day
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of our schools and our students.
Tap Into Maple Run – Episode 12
Collaboration & Relationships
The latest episode of Tap Into Maple Run is now available, and it highlights one of our core values: Collaboration & Relationships.
In Episode 12, we focus on how students, families, and community members work together to support one another and strengthen our schools. Building strong connections is at the heart of what we do in Maple Run, and this conversation brings that to life in a meaningful way.
We’re joined by Erin Creley from the Vermont Department of Health and Zoey Quigley from United Way of Northwest Vermont. They share how collaboration and volunteerism are making an impact locally and how our community continues to come together in support of one another.
They also highlight the upcoming 2nd Annual Volunteer Fair on Tuesday, April 16 from 3:00–6:00 PM at Collins Perley Sports and Fitness Center. This is a great opportunity for students, families, and community members to connect with local organizations and explore ways to get involved.
We’re grateful to our community partners and to the many students, staff, and families who model collaboration and relationship-building every day.

Wellness Tip of the Week
Connections!
This week, we’re focusing on connection. Life gets busy, but taking a moment to reach out to someone—a friend, family member, neighbor, or colleague—can make a big difference. A quick text, a phone call, or even just asking “how’s your day going?” can brighten someone’s day and strengthen your relationship.
Connection works both ways. When we check in on others, we’re also taking care of ourselves. Sharing a laugh, offering support, or lending a hand can lift your mood, ease stress, and make challenges a little easier to handle. In schools and communities, small acts—helping a classmate, volunteering, or simply saying something kind—really add up. They build trust, empathy, and a sense of belonging for everyone.
This week, look for one simple way to connect with someone. Even a small gesture can ripple outward and make a real difference in our community.
