Dear MREC Families,

As we welcome the warmer weather and blossoming flowers, we're excited to share some news about our upcoming Spring Break at MREC! The season of renewal is the perfect time for our little ones to explore, create, and have a blast together.

🌼 Spring Break Dates: March 11-15

  • Please note that MREC will be closed during the break, giving our staff and students the opportunity to recharge and return with even more energy for the rest of the school year.

🎨 Spring-themed Activities:

  • During the week leading up and weeks after Spring Break, our classrooms will be buzzing with spring-themed crafts, activities, and games. From colorful flower art to butterfly adventures, your child will have the chance to embrace the spirit of the season.

🌳Outdoor Exploration Day:

  • Weather permitting, plan an Outdoor Exploration Day during Spring Break with your little one. This will provide the opportunity to discover nature, play games, and enjoy the fresh air.

  • Spring Break is also a wonderful opportunity for quality family time. Consider taking a nature walk, having a picnic, or exploring a local park together. These shared moments create lasting memories and strengthen family bonds.

🌈 Looking Ahead:

  • As we spring into the second half of the school year, we have exciting activities and events planned. Keep an eye out for announcements about our upcoming Spring Events!.

We hope you and your family have a rejuvenating and joyful Spring Break. Thank you for entrusting us with the care and education of your precious little ones. We look forward to seeing everyone back at MREC on March 18th!

Increased Traffic on Cardinal Drive Increased Traffic on Cardinal Drive

MREC, SGC, and MMS families, be sure to save some extra time for morning drop-off and afternoon pickup when we return from Spring Break. Due to the closure of Harrison Drive, there will be increased traffic on Cardinal Drive as buses will be rerouted. To manage this, the City of Melissa and Melissa ISD are teaming up to provide additional police officers to assist with traffic flow. We appreciate your understanding and patience as everyone adjusts to the new routes and traffic patterns.

It is available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. MySchoolBucks Increase Processing Fee MySchoolBucks Increase Processing Fee

On March 7, MySchoolBucks increased their per-payment credit card fee to $3.25 for those who make online payments to their student cafeteria accounts. A β€œpayment” is any time you add money to your family MySchoolBucks account (not every meal purchased). This includes auto payments and one-time funds. According to MySchoolBucks, the fee increase is due to rising payment processing interchange fees and increases in operational costs. Any parents/guardians with an active account should have received a notification via email from MySchoolBucks detailing these changes.
