Tiger Times - Week of October 12, 2026
Millennium Students and Parents,
The end of Fall Break is here and we are entering my favorite part of the year. Please, please no more 100° temps. I'm over it and would like to turn off my A/C. My husband and I spent part of fall break in Nebraska visiting my alma mater. The weather was amazing. I am looking forward to the fall activities - pumpkin patches and witches brew. 🎃
Grades - First quarter grades were posted before the break. Please be sure to check our your student's progress. Grades will continue to accumulate the remainder of the semester. I encourage students to work with their teachers on any missing assignments or reassessment opportunities needed.
Tutor Bus - Reminder we have a tutor bus every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. It picks up students from the bus loop at 3:30. Students who are involved in after school tutoring are eligible to ride the tutor bus. They must get a pass from their teacher.

Millennium High School
Millennium HS is a member of the Agua Fria High School District family of schools
What is Proposition 438, and why does it matter for our schools?
Prop 438 is a continuation of Agua Fria High School District’s existing Maintenance & Operations Budget Override. It funds critical day-to-day essentials, like keeping high-quality teachers in classrooms, maintaining campus safety personnel, and expanding career programs like Nursing, IT, and Trades.
Best of all? It maintains our current voter-approved funding with no tax rate increase! Without it, our district faces over $12 million in annual budget reductions.

RTI Expectations
Know Your RTI. Go to Your RTI. Stay in Your RTI.
RTI (Response to Intervention) is an important part of our school day and gives students time for targeted support, enrichment, and academic help. Students are expected to report to their assigned RTI session on time and remain there for the entire RTI period.
Please talk with your student about the importance of knowing their RTI assignment and attending the correct session each day. Students who do not attend their assigned RTI will automatically receive an Overdrive.
Read & Roar October Challenge
📚 Something BOO-tiful is happening in the Millennium High School Library! 👻
This October, the MHS Library is hosting our Read & Roar October Challenge: FA-BOO-LOUS BOOOOOK Recommendations!
We’re inviting students AND staff to stop by the library and share a book they think others should read. Whether it’s a spine-tingling thriller, a frighteningly good fantasy, a killer mystery, a haunting romance, or simply a book you couldn’t put down—we want to hear about it!
🎃 Submit a book recommendation in the library during October and you’ll earn a sweet treat and be entered for a chance to WIN A PRIZE at the end of the month!
Help us fill the library with FA-BOO-LOUS reads and discover your next great book along the way.
Don’t ghost the library—stop by and share your favorite read! 👻📖

📸 SENIOR PORTRAIT UPDATE — MORE OPTIONS, MORE TIME! 🎓
Great news, Class of 2027! Grads Photography is giving our Tigers more opportunities to get their senior tux/drape portraits taken for the yearbook!
🐾 ON-CAMPUS SENIOR PORTRAITS — TUESDAY, OCTOBER 13
Grads will be on campus from 7:30 AM – 2:00 PM to photograph seniors. This opportunity is available to both our on-campus and Distance Learning students. Students participating in Distance Learning, West-MEC, or early release/late start schedules are welcome to come during a session when they are on campus or available to visit.
👔 WHAT TO WEAR
Tux Portraits: Wear a plain white T-shirt. The tuxedo shirt, bow tie, and jacket will be provided during your session, so there's no need to dress up!
Drape Portraits: Wear a spaghetti strap top to make it easier to wear the provided drape. Your top will not be visible in the final photo.
📅 EXTENDED STUDIO DEADLINE — FRIDAY, DECEMBER 11
Prefer a studio appointment? The deadline has been extended, giving seniors even more time to schedule their portraits! Grads offers several studio packages, including two yearbook-focused options:
📷 Simple — FREE: Grads selects your yearbook photo, and retouching is not included.
📷 Simple Choice — $20: Choose your favorite yearbook photo from multiple images, with professional retouching included.
Additional senior portrait packages are also available.
🌐 Schedule your studio appointment at https://gradsphotography.com/seniors or call 623-566-1082 ext. 2.
💜 ALREADY TAKEN YOUR PORTRAIT?
You're all set! If you've already completed your senior portrait session with Grads, there's no need to attend the on-campus photo day. This is an additional opportunity for seniors who haven't been photographed, not a retake session.
Let's make sure every Tiger is represented in the Class of 2027 yearbook! 💜🖤🐾

Tiger Tutoring
The National Honor Society at Millennium HS is offering free 30-minute tutoring sessions for students at MHS who need an extra boost in their classes. We strive to assist in campus outreach, and would love to help! Tutoring is free, and can be requested through the Google Form posted on the school library site and on social media. The link to the Form is: https://forms.gle/WoQD8e1aDhKNNMpTA.
School Hours, Attendance, and Tardy
Our school hours are from 7:30 AM - 2:15 PM Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM on Wednesdays. Students need to arrive on campus with enough time to arrive to their classes before the late bell rings. Please be sure to accommodate entering campus through security devices. There will be lines to enter campus.
- Regular student attendance is necessary to provide the greatest opportunity for student academic success.
- If you need to call in an absence for your student, please contact 623-932-7200 Extension 2 and leave your student’s name, ID number, date, and the reason for the absence and it will be processed as soon as possible.
- Students who are late to any class during the day will be marked tardy. 5 tardies to a class will be the equivalent of 1 absence for the class.
- Attendance Appeals will be held when a student misses 10 or more classes in a particular course.
- An Attendance Appeal could result in the loss of credit for the student. Please refer to the Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook and review the district policy regarding attendance and tardiness.
Don't be Late to Class!
"The time you take to prepare shows the respect you have for the opportunity." - William Arthur Ward
Part of our Portrait of a Graduate is to prepare students to be responsible adults. This includes being on time to all classes every day.
Students who are more than 15 minutes late to class will be marked absent for that period. An accumulation of 5 tardies will equal 1 absence.
Consequences
5 tardies - Detention
10 tardies - Extended detention
15 tardies - Office referral (may result in ISS or OSS)
