Belmont Elementary: A PAWSitive Place to Learn!
Get Your Fun On! Field Day is Wednesday, May 21!
If you are a carefree adult who loves to play, then we've got space for YOU! Siblings are not allowed on the field, so plan for a sitter, sign up and join us!
We could use some more help!!
Field Day 2025 Volunteer Sign Up
3rd, 4th and 5th graders will participate in field day rotations from 9:00-11:30. Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders will participate in field day rotations primarily led by the 5th graders from 12:30-3:00. Then, all Kindergarten through 5th grade will participate in our traditional Tug-o-War at 3:00.
Important info:
- Sunscreen and water bottles are SUPER GREAT IDEAS!! Please apply!
- Dress for success- old clothes and tennis shoes rule! Hats are a good idea, too!
- You might think about sending a second pair of socks and shoes to change into after playing in case the field is still wet in the morning. And a bag. They might need a bag to put those in. Phew!
- K-5 STUDENT LUNCH:
- Send an individual sack lunch from home!
- Parents will not be able to join their children for lunch on field day as we'll all be eating at the same time in classrooms and we can't accommodate so many extra bodies.
- Who can attend? Only adults are allowed on the field with Belmont Bulldogs participating in field day. No siblings will be allowed to join in activities or go past a marked spectator zone. We STRONGLY encourage parents to find a sitter for siblings on field day so that they can freely volunteer or participate with their school-agers during the events of the day. It's FUN!! If that's not possible for you and you want to stop by to watch from the sidelines for a bit, there will be a spectator zone, but I can't guarantee that all events will be easily view-able from the site. Yes, indeed, the spectator zone will be in full view of the tug-o-war site at the end of the day.
- VOLUNTEERS are welcome! Adults only! PLEASE, MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR THE TIME WHEN YOUR CHILD WILL BE PARTICIPATING IN FIELD DAY ACTIVITIES. 3rd-5th graders participate in the morning and Kdg-2nd graders participate in the afternoon. Directions for each activity will be printed on the back of each station sign. Mrs. Koester will also make the rounds to help demo or explain details.
- Parents may also travel with their child's class and help out at each station.
- ALL VISITORS MUST SIGN IN AT THE VISITOR STATION BEFORE ENTERING THE PLAYING FIELD!
Summer Suggestions: Work on Those Executive Functioning Skills
Remember all of that time I prattled on about Executive Functioning Skills last fall? This summer would be a FABULOUS time to pull out those old notes and sharpen those skills! There are so many fun things a family can do together to help our children develop the planning, organization and social skills needed to become happy and successful young humans who grow up to be happy and successful grown humans! I've included the list of skills we've worked on this year and all of the old newsletters are on our building website! Go ahead. Take charge of helping your children have a great 25-26!
There's Room at the Table for YOU to Help the 25-26 BE PTO Plan for Another Exciting and Balanced Year of Engagement!
The Belmont PTO Oversight Committee is made up of two Co-Chairs, two Co-Treasurers, two Communications Co-municators (see what I did there?) a Teacher Liaison and the Principal. Next year, our Co-Chairs are Kaylee Ingenthron and Hilary Gillespie, our Treasurer is Adam Gotsche (until someone joins him in this department, the co-chairs serve as co-treasurers to keep the checks and balances in our by-laws in play), Jennifer Sikkel is our Teacher Liaison and the Principal will be Mr. Stucky. Do you like spreadsheets and helping to funnel money into our student classrooms? Reach out! Do you love to manage social media or keep groups organized by capturing and sharing what's happening in meetings, planning, and all things PTO? Reach out! Just email Kaylee and Hilary to ask more questions or get your name on the ballot! There is a place for you to make a difference at Belmont! Email belmontbooster@gmail.com for more info!

WatchDOGS Wednesdays!!
It's a WatchDOGS revival in the Belmont DogHouse! With at least a week's notice, we'll welcome a DAD (gotta be a significant adult guardian or relation) each Wednesday to work a day at BE. There will be a schedule provided that will include a variety of tasks including building safety, academic assistance in classrooms, and logistical support during lunch, and the reward...RECESS! We guarantee you'll have the opportunity to enjoy lunch and recess with your own child(ren) and around that, we'll put you to work in the classrooms where your extra hands will be the most helpful! Do YOU have the opportunity to take a day off to hang out with about 370 beautiful children and the adults who love learning with them?
Access the WatchDOGS Sign Up HERE.
