💬 A Note from Mrs. Grace
Dear Spradley Families,
We hope you’re following us on X, Instagram, and Facebook! These platforms are where you can see all the magic happening on campus each day. We’ve been sharing so many exciting snapshots of the holiday fun taking place at Spradley Elementary, and we don’t want you to miss a moment. If you haven’t already, we encourage you to join us on social media and stay connected!
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our amazing PTO for continually supporting our students and staff. Your dedication makes such a difference in our school community.
We also want to express a huge thank you to all the parents who donated cookies for our annual Staff Holiday Cookie Exchange. This event is always a favorite among our staff, and your generosity truly brings joy to our days!
Another big thank you to the volunteers who helped create the beautiful holiday wreaths. Your time and creativity have made the building feel festive, warm, and full of cheer during this special season.
Finally, the Winter Grade-Level Parties are a PTO sponsored event, which will be held during grade-level specials. We know many of you want to be part of the fun, and the best way to participate is by joining the PTO and volunteering and supporting the activities planned for students. Please ensure you have completed the background check.
Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping make Spradley Elementary such a wonderful place to learn and grow.
With Spradley Pride,
Principal Grace
Special Message From Nurse Castro
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Flu season has arrived, and we are beginning to see cases in our school community. To help keep all students healthy, we want to share common signs and symptoms of the flu so that you know what to watch for at home.
Flu symptoms may include:
- Fever or chills
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Headache
- Body aches
- Fatigue
- Nausea/vomiting
As a reminder, according to the Texas Department of State Health Services, a student with a temperature of 100.0 F (37.8 °C) or greater should be excluded from school until free of fever for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications such as Tylenol or Ibuprofen.
Working together will help us to reduce the spread of illness and keep our school community healthy. Thank you all for your support and cooperation.
Stay warm and stay healthy,
Nurse Castro

Together We Champion
At Spradley, we have WIN Time—What I Need—a structured, grade-level approach where all students move to designated learning spaces based on their individual instructional needs for a short portion of the day. During this time, every teacher plays an active role in supporting all students, not just those in their homeroom. Teachers provide targeted academic support while also addressing students’ social and emotional needs, ensuring each child feels seen, supported, and encouraged.
WIN Time is one of the many ways we champion our students—by meeting them exactly where they are and helping them grow to their fullest potential.
It’s hard to hide that Spradley Pride!💙
Together We Cultivate
Together We Empower
Today, one of our 4th-grade students confidently guided his class through their morning meeting, where students practiced and discussed our Character Strong development traits. Moments like this remind us how empowering students builds community, strengthens character, and helps them grow as leaders.
It’s hard to hide that Spradley Pride!💙
Together We Prosper

💡 Family Tip of the Week
Keeping Our Spradley Community Safe
Spradley families, we need your help to ensure the safety of all students, parents, and guests within our community. We know that life gets busy and the hustle and bustle of each day can make us feel rushed. However, safety must remain our top priority, especially during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up.
🚗 Safe Driving & Respectful Communication
Please be respectful to one another and practice safe, patient driving on and around campus. A kind gesture or calm response can make a big difference in keeping our community welcoming and safe.
🚶 Crosswalk & Pedestrian Safety
As a true community school, we have many students who walk home daily. We ask that all drivers follow crosswalk laws and give all pedestrians the right of way, even if they are not in the crosswalk yet. Your attentiveness protects our students and families.
🔒 Seat Belt Safety
Before exiting our driveways, please ensure that all students are safely buckled into their seat belts. A quick safety check can prevent serious injuries.
Thank you for partnering with us to keep Spradley a safe place for everyone. When we work together, we create a community where all students can learn and grow safely.
🔔 Reminders
Reminder for Carpool Families
We kindly ask all families who participate in carpools to promptly communicate any dismissal changes with everyone in their carpool group. Changes in transportation plans can impact multiple students, and when families are not informed, students may be left waiting in the front office.
Recently, we have had several students remain at school past 3:30 p.m. because their carpool partners were unaware that they needed to pick them up. This not only causes stress for the students involved, but also prevents staff from attending scheduled meetings and fulfilling responsibilities after school hours.
Please help us keep dismissal safe, smooth, and timely by ensuring all changes are shared with your entire carpool group. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support!
