Last Quarter...
"No matter what you're going through, there's a light at the end of the tunnel and it may seem hard to get to it but you can do it and just keep working towards it and you'll find the positive side of things."
~Demi Lovato
We have started our last quarter of the year, wow, where did this year go? This is the last chance to pull up your grades for the second semester to show on your transcript. A few reminders...anything below a C- is not college eligible and will have to be retaken if you wish to go to a 4-year college directly after high school. However, you may pass high school with a D- or higher and start at a junior college to transfer to a university for the remainder of your degree, or a vocational school/Career certificate of the SRJC, or join the military.
***Reminder - You can check PowerSchool for your students' Q3 grades.***
Seniors will need to not have any failing grades to be eligible for Disney Grad Night. ALL graduates have finished their community service hours. WOOHOOOO
On Site Therapists
We have two therapists on site. Artemis with Team Success provided by CPI on Monday and Tuesdays, and then Paige our school's Social Worker on Thursdays and Fridays. If you feel like you would like to speak to one of them let me know and I can refer you. It's a great resource to help heal our Mental Health.
18 graduates are left for FAFSA. This needs to be submitted for graduating students as soon as possible or you can fill out an opt out form which are in the office. There are Cash 4 College nights held virtually and in person all over the county if you need assistance. This is the only way you will get any type of financial aid in college and this is the only way you will get to go to the JC for free. Please fill it out as soon as possible, so you can find out how much money you will earn and if you get the Cal Grant or other scholarships.
Juniors Spring Meets are off to a good start with information about different pathways after high school.
I have also created a Google Classroom with resources and announcements...ask your students if they have joined yet.
My newsletters are to inform parents mostly, but there will also be information for students. Some information carries over each week, but always look for the new stuff.
I am very easy to get ahold of and respond pretty quickly. If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions, clarification, or concerns.
See below for friendly reminders: Important Dates, Mental Health Tips/Resources, SRJC information, Scholarship opportunities, and volunteer opportunities.
THS Robotics Fundraiser
From the THS Robotics President...
Thank you to everyone who cheered us on at SBB over the weekend! The club put on a great performance and won in multiple categories! There were some extraordinary plants. Nothing stood a chance against Angular Aggression. Rev 3 did so much damage they had to retire the arena, a chunk of it was awarded as a trophy!
Let's rally behind our champions and send them to the Nationals!! Join us in promoting our upcoming fundraiser on Saturday, April 11th. We have a fun evening planned. We need your help getting the word out so we can keep the program funded.
Here are the highlights of what’s included with a ticket:
* Wine tasting hosted by Vōkel Cellars
* Grazing table / charcuterie
* Paella dinner (meat & vegetarian)
* Live music
* Silent / Live Auction
• Studio rental in Paris, France
• Timeshare week in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico
• Private tour of Bodega Marine Lab
• Family membership to Robert Ferguson Observatory
• And many more!
We know parents support us year-round so think of other people you can invite to attend: extended family, neighbors, coworkers, or anyone else you think would enjoy supporting our program.
Maybe there’s grandparents who want to support but can’t attend? Ask if they would like to donate tickets for you to hand out to someone who will enjoy the festivities and participate in the silent auction, there’s a “Donation” ticket option just for this!
Attached is the link to purchase tickets via Eventbrite. Please share so we can sell this fundraiser out!

Dartmouth Admissions Officers will host a live virtual workshop to introduce you to the college application and holistic admissions processes at highly selective schools. They want to encourage you to kick-off your college search with confidence and purpose.
I wanted to share this link with you, especially those who may not think a highly selective institution like Dartmouth is within reach? During the workshop, they will address common misconceptions about the admissions process and introduce Dartmouth’s fly-in programs.
