Sunny Sunkist Hello from Mrs. Hunter-Stewart!

Greetings, Sunkist families! It has been such a wonderful first few weeks here at Sunkist, as your new principal! I have had the pleasure to meet many of you and have felt an outpouring of warmth and welcoming. I value the support and love this community shows to our students and school. The fantastic job you are doing as parents is reflected by how polite and kind your children are and we are so proud of our Bears! Please remember that this whole school community is a team and we work together to do the very best of everything for our kids! I am here to be of service to all of you.

In partnership,

Mrs. Stacy Hunter-Stewart

Expectations Assemblies

We invited every student, grades 1 - 5, to attend a special assembly to make sure we are clear on our rules and expectations of all Sunkist Bears. Our rules are there to keep everyone safe and happy. Our Bears are making us proud and following these guidelines every day, making Sunkist a fabulous school!

Counseling/Wellness Center

Dear Sunkist Families,

We care about you! As we begin the school year, we want every student to have what they need. If your family needs any resources, such as school supplies, hygiene products, or other essentials, please reach out. You can call the school wellness center at (805)986-8722 ext. 2886. We will be happy to help while supplies last, and all requests will be handled with care and confidentiality.

In August, our Tier 1 lessons kicked off with counselor introductions and our Bear's Den expectations. This September, our lessons will focus on the importance of school attendance and strategies to support our kindergarten and first-grade students experiencing separation anxiety.

If you ever need to refer your student for school counseling, please fill out this form:

Thank you for being a valued part of our school community!

Warm regards,

Ms. Pilotzi, Sunkist School Counselor
