Good Morning,
The WECC Parent Council sponsored the Annual Turkey Trot that took place on Wednesday and Thursday. Although it was a bit chilly, the sun was out and everyone had a great time. We thank our families and friends for attending this exciting event and sponsoring your students. We appreciate our WECC Parent Council for helping to provide this fun opportunity for students and look forward to other school wide events.
The Cafeteria
The Cafeteria tables have arrived!! Students spent the week acclimating to this space by using the tables as their morning meeting spot. Some classes brought students down to practice eating lunch for when we officially open on Monday, 11/18. There is a thoughtful plan in place to provide a safe and inclusive lunch time for all students.
Parent Teacher Conferences:
Parent Teacher Conferences are this week- November 19 and 20th. On Tuesday, 11/19, there will be a half day for all WECC students for afternoon conferences. Tuesday's conferences are virtual via Google Meet from 11:45-2:30 and Wednesday night's conferences are in person from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
The WECC Parent Council will have a table set up in the lobby. Please stop by to say hello, learn more about ways to become involved or stop by to pick up additional calendars.

Safety:
We ask that parents, guardians or anyone you place on your child's pick up list have a picture ID with them. As we get to know our families and caregivers, we may ask for an ID, to verify our caregivers..
Tuition:
The Lockbox for dropping off tuition is now at door #7. No CASH should be placed into this box. Please do not use the one at the front of the building where the administration office is. Remember to put your child's name in the memo section of your check.
Questions about tuition or registration, please don't hesitate to reach out to our school office at 781-335-0191. If you leave a message, we will return your call as soon as possible.
Have a wonderful weekend!

How to Teach Your Child to Take Turns
About this Series
The Backpack Connection Series was created by TACSEI to provide a way for teachers and parents/caregivers to work together to help young children develop social emotional skills and reduce challenging behavior.
Each Backpack Connection handout provides information that helps parents stay informed about what their child is learning at school and specific ideas on how to use the strategy or skill at home

WECC Textile Bins
Textile bins are way to support our school through passive fundraising. If you have old worn out clothing, blankets, sheets, etc. please consider using our bins.
What happens to my donations? Items are sorted into different grades, including usable / non-
usable items and cotton and synthetics. Usable items are then redistributed to markets in
economically challenged areas, where there is a demand for wearable clothing or other materials.
Non usable items are shredded and used for fillers in many new products.
Turkey Trot Fun!
I'm a Super Reader
Help us reach our goal of 10,000 books
One of the most important gifts we can give our children is to help them learn to read and write so that they can succeed in school and beyond. Confident, active readers are able to use their reading skills to follow their passions and curiosity about the world. We all read for a purpose: to be entertained, to take a journey of the imagination, to connect with others, to figure out how to do something, and to learn about history, science, the arts, and everything else.
We hope to foster the love of reading in our students. Please help us by helping your child read each day. Attached is a reading chart that your child can color each time they read a book. Bring the reading chart to school once all apples are colored and your child will receive a Super Reader sticker. You may choose to only read 10 books per month or submit as many reading charts as you want. We will be keeping track by classroom. If JECC students reach the goal of 10,000 books, we will have a Bubble party at the end of the year.
Help our students reach their goal!
