Panther Weekly
November 24 - November 30
We would like to welcome you to take a look back at 50 years of Parkview!
This year we are excited to celebrate Parkview's 50th Anniversary. Over the school year, you may notice our clubs, athletics and activities all finding a way to join in the celebration. They may have alumni at their games, guest conductors at their concerts or 50th themed events.
In this section we will feature images and facts about Parkview's first 50 years!
Ticketing in a Digital World
Remember the nostalgic days of attending high school sporting events, plays, or raffles, where purchasing a physical ticket was the norm? You would hold onto that ticket, present it at the door, and maybe it would be collected or tucked away in your pocket, only to be washed away in your jeans, disintegrating into nothing. Those days are long gone, and perhaps that's for the best. Ticket sales have transitioned to a digital format. In the 2010s, Gwinnett County embraced a touchless ticketing system, GoFan.co, and hasn’t looked back since. While this shift may require some adjustment, it has significantly streamlined the entry process for events and simplified sales tracking for each activity. The paper ticket may belong to the past, but in this instance, it’s probably best not to dwell on it. Here at Parkview we are happy to have embraced the change, but who can forget the mess of the little paper scraps in the the dryer.

Attendance Office Reminders
Final Exam Attendance Information
Please be at school for final exams.
- Exam dates are set by the county - no exams will be given early. If you miss a final, it is the students responsibility to schedule a makeup time with the teacher.
- There are no check outs during any exams!
- Forms will be sent home with all students for permission to check in after their advisement class period. These must be returned for the absence to be considered excused.
- Please see the Final Exam Schedule above for exam dates and times.
Excuse Note Reminders
Parents, we appreciate your patience as the county shifts how excuse notes are turned in this year. We have just a few quick tips to make this process continue to be successful.
You must fill in one of the two sections:
- Add a doctor's note or document
- Write in your excuse in the "Note" box.
- Excuse notes can't be reported until 24 hours after the absence.
Student Check-ins/Checkouts:
Students arriving late must enter through the main front entrance. They should check in using the tablets and go directly to class.
All checkouts* must happen before 1:30 PM. No exceptions. This allows us to prepare for dismissal, thank you for your support.
If you know ahead of time your student needs to leave early, you may do the following:
Send a written note with student in the morning. Note must be received by the Attendance Office before 7:15 AM.
The note must include: Student’s first and last name, date and time of checkout, and parent phone number.
The attendance clerk will provide a pass to the student to leave at the designated time without the parent needing to come inside. The students can then checkout at the Attendance Office and meet their parents/guardian outside at the time listed.
Attendance clerks will verify all notes before releasing students. If they cannot reach a parent, the student will not be allowed to check out.
We encourage families to regularly check student attendance in ParentVue.
*Please remember, there are no checkouts during testing blocks
