Message From the Principal
It’s a great day to be an Eagle!
In a world where so much happens at the speed of a video game, it’s easy for our children to expect instant results. But in real life, excellence takes time. Whether it’s learning a new skill, practicing for a sport, or building healthy friendships, true growth comes from patience, perseverance, and staying focused on the task at hand.
At school, we are encouraging our students to understand that success isn’t about things happening quickly—it’s about keeping a positive mindset, showing resilience when things get hard, and being willing to “fail forward.” Every mistake is a chance to learn, and every challenge is an opportunity to grow stronger.
You can help at home by reminding your child that the process matters just as much as the outcome. Celebrate their effort, encourage them to stick with it even when it’s tough, and talk about how setbacks can lead to breakthroughs. Together, we can guide our Eagles to see that excellence is not instant—it’s earned through dedication and determination.

From the Counselor's Corner
We're hopeful everyone's school year is off to a positive start as we transition to Colorado's beautiful fall. This year, the counseling department at Eagle Ridge is partnering with Douglas County Public Schools district wide initiative of integrating Social Emotional lessons in the classroom through the program, Wayfinder. Until fall break, all K-12 students are learning the importance of kindness and inclusivity through Douglas County's anti-bullying campaign.
One way you can partner with Douglas County's initiative is to speak with your student about the definition of bullying and how we can "See it-Say It- Stop It".
The definition of bullying is repeated intentional meanness. We all make mistakes or can bring each other down sometimes. It's important to say sorry and repair the relationship. Bullying is when the other person doesn't stop and isn't sorry. When this happens, we need student's help to "See it- Say it- Stop it." It's important if someone sees bullying or is being bullied, they speak with a trusted adult so we can help stop it and ensure that every student is included and valued.
Lastly, the counseling department will be integrating small group work into our departmental practice. If you believe your child could benefit from practicing or developing new social-emotional skills within the context of their peers, please reach out to Mrs. Lieber or Ms. Miller to see what groups are available.
We look forward to learning and growing with your student this year!
