As the new calendar year begins, note that the first semester of school is about to end! Please make sure your students are current on their work and have everything completed for the term before the January 23 deadline.
As the cold and flu seasons are upon us, we also remind you to stay healthy! If you are going to be missing school for illness, please let us know. An extended unexcused absence can result in a Failure to Participate warning.
Stay warm, finish the term strong, and Happy New Year, 2025!!

Resources for Families
In the wake of Monday's tragic events in Madison, the DPI has shared these resources for having conversations about the topic with kids who may be nervous.
Volunteer Opportunities
Looking for family-friendly opportunities to volunteer for organizations within your community? Contact the organization you are interested in directly as they may have opportunities for younger children as well! This is just a short list...think of places that impact your local community/have a tie to your family in some way and help them make a larger impact.
Sheboygan County Food Bank-ages 12 and up
Pine Haven Bingo Buddies-every Wednesday at their 3 locations
Above & Beyond Children's Museum Landscape volunteer-ages 16 and up
Your Local Library- most are ages 12 and up
Your Local Donation Center-ages 14 and up
As a parent of college-aged kids, it was very eye-opening as to how many of their friends were unable to complete simple documents (including filling out an envelope properly to mail a letter) as they were heading out of the home and away to college or the workplace. From work applications to healthcare forms to applying for their first apartment....giving your kids exposure now to filling out forms and following different formats is a great real-life opportunity!
With the wintry weather, here are some fun ideas to check out!
Download the link to learn more about each of the planets in preparation for the Parade of Planets (a large event occurs on January 21st and then an even larger one on February 28th)! Using an app like Sky Tonight can help you "find" them all as well.
