College Application Week
College applications for early action are due soon at many schools. To help prepare for that and celebrate your accomplishments the College and Career Center is hosting College Application Week October 26-30. Schools will be here thoughout the week. Additionally, Tap in Tuesday will focus on the Common Application.
We want to know your plans! Stop by the College and Career Center to add to share where you've applied and add your name to our list of students celebrating completing the Common App.
Make sure to apply for FAFSA/ORSAA. Even if you think you won't qualify, it's an important part of applying to college. Your needs today may be different later, and you will not be eligible to apply for FAFSA if you don't apply your first year. Colleges will use this to determine your financial aid packages. Need more help? See the slide deck in your Google Classroom or come to the College and Career Center, and if you've already completed the FAFSA/ORSAA, we want to know.
Scholarships
Scholarships are free money to help pay for college and trades. There are lots of scholarships out there. Apply for as many as you can, and don't just look at the big ones. Local scholarships, while often smaller, also have a smaller number of applicants, so your odds are better. Make sure to apply to schools early to make yourself eligible for school specific scholarships. Check out the scholarship info in your Google Classroom for more information.
