From Our Interim Principal From Our Interim Principal

What a wonderful three days I have had! Your children are truly amazing, and our teachers do such a fantastic job of creating vibrant communities within their classrooms. Despite this being a difficult time for you, I am fully committed to supporting your kids, helping our staff, and being a positive presence for all of you.

I know I can never truly fill the shoes of Principal Stacy Eto while she is out. I have shared with the students that I am their "substitute principal," and that I am here to follow the great plans that have already been established.

Tomorrow is our PTA Coffee, and I will be there with a huge smile on my face! I even asked our Senior Director if we could call tomorrow’s event "A Cup of Joe with Joe," and he gave me the green light!

I have already met so many of you, and I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a warm welcome. See you tomorrow in the Cafeteria.

Thank you again,

joe

Book Return Reminder

Richmond Students & Families!

Next week, the week of May 11, is the last week to check out library books for this school year! All library books are due May 22nd. As we near the end of the school year, we are reminding families to return library books before students leave for the summer. Especially our promoting 5th graders!

Please check your shelves, under the bed, behind the couch, and more to find those books to return to the Richmond School Library!

Help us keep our library materials available for all to use and enjoy.

Contact me at kcardenas@pps.net if you have any questions.

Thanks so much!

Ms. Kali Cardenas

Art Show News!

Students are busy putting the finishing touches on their work! Because of space restrictions, the Art Show is moving to its own time slot and will not be held during the Spring Festival.

Stay tuned for the official schedule, which will be released the week of the 18th.

Buy Nothing Booth @ Spring Festival

Bring the spirit of sharing to our Spring Festival with another Buy Nothing event.

As usual we'll have space for kids outerwear, kids shoes, Richmond/Oya No Kai gear, and Japanese ephemera. Our special category to welcome spring is tools and plants—from hand tools, garden gear, and hardware to cuttings, pots, seedlings, and houseplants.

Bring something to give, take home something you’ll love, and help keep perfectly good items in use. It’s a fun, community-powered way to swap, save, and celebrate spring together.

Call for 4th grade parent volunteers

It is a wonderful Richmond tradition for a few 4th grade parents “to pay it forward” by volunteering at the 5th grade promotion ceremony each year so the 5th grade parents can focus on the ceremony and enjoy the moment with their graduates. Next year, it will be your turn to sit back and be present! Please consider signing up to volunteer and/or contacting Ellen Schiller, ellenwatt@netdiving.com, with any questions! Thank you! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70A0F45ACAC28AAFF2-63759382-20252026
