Let Grow Project Spotlight!

When adults let go....children step up!

Let Grow ProjectSpotlight! When adults let go....children step up!

December Let Grow focus is Service to those outside our home! This new service focus has been a challenge for some of our kids. As the Let Grow projects turn away from self focused our kiddos want to resist :) Sound familiar? This is where your encouragment and even expectations will really count. We want our children to be independent, resilient and outer focused (at least some of the time). I have gone into each classroom with a Let Grow Check In and given lots and lots of ideas. We talked about how these service let grow projects help others and ourselves feel empowered and cared for. I also reminded them that they can continue to do those let grow projects that are fun right alongside the ones centered on service. Be sure and look at the link below for more ideas! The photos and stories below are so wonderful!

Ari Tamijani

Ari makes an effort to ask how people are doing when he greets them. This small little act can change someone's whole day. Sometimes the service we do for others is how we make them feel.

Olive Beaulieu

Olive cleaned the dishes. I am sure Mom and Dad appreciated the time they got back when Olive took over. She also made her own oatmeal. She learned that it was a little challenging to figure out he right amount of oatmeal and water.

Livia Sharman

Livia walked her dog to the park next to her house all my herself. This is a double duty Let Grow project. Taking on a pet chore and going somewhere independently makes the growth really soar! She also helped her dad make pancakes. Yummmm!
