Defender Families,

Week 13 brings us into the month of November, and there are several important dates to note:

• Monday, November 3: No school due to Staff Development Day.

• Thursday, November 6 & Friday, November 7: 8th-grade vision and hearing screenings. Please remind your student to bring their glasses if they wear them.

• Tuesday, November 11: No school in observance of Veterans Day.

It was wonderful to see so many students participate in College and Career Spirit Days and Red Ribbon Week! DMS students continue to show their school pride and stay actively engaged both in and out of the classroom.

If you didn't do so already, please be sure to update the time on any alarm clocks that you have plugged in so that you can arrive to school on time. We will see you on Tuesday!!!

Mark your calendar!!! There is no school on Tuesday, November 11th in honor of Veteran's Day!!! Thank you to all individuals who have served or currently serving.

DMS has a Crossing Guard!!! We are asking parents and guardians to refrain from parking in front of the Equestrian Center. It is slowing down the crossing sensors. We appreciate your support.

All 8th graders will participate in vision and hearing screening on Nov. 6th or Nov. 7th. Please remember to bring prescription glasses if you have them.

Students worked in groups to solve complex ratio word problems.

Leadership students presented information of various colleges/trades at the College/Career Fair to student groups during advisement.

Students participated in a lab using movement to calculate velocity and Kinetic energy and then graph the results.

Students created Day of the Dead sugar Skull print making.

Students created charcoal Tim Burton style portraits.
