Dear Tolleson ESD families and community,

This past week, we proudly honored our retirees at our governing board meeting—thank you for the years of dedication, passion, and service you have given to our students and community. We also celebrated the incredible work of our educators, including Principal Mr. De La Huerta, at the Westside Impact Teachers of the Year Awards, and joined Fiesta Bowl Charities in recognizing our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week. We are truly grateful to all of our treasure hunters who bring learning to life every day.

As we wrap up the school year, we want to ensure you stay connected. Please take a moment to update your email address and phone number with your school’s front office if they have changed. Families should be receiving weekly texts and emails from the district. If you have not received them, please reach out to your school as soon as possible so we can keep you informed.

As a reminder, we will be celebrating our promoting 8th grade students next week. Join us in celebrating our treasures on their achievement!

This week, Arizona Desert Elementary received a heartwarming visit from Fiesta Bowl Charities, just in time for Teacher Appreciation Week. The celebration was even more meaningful because the honored educators were nominated by their very own students!

Congratulations to Elizabeth Farr, Franki Diaz, Shannon Stanley, Brittany Morgan, and Ericka Green, who were each surprised with a $1,000 check from Fiesta Bowl Charities in recognition of their incredible impact.

The joy was undeniable as students, staff, and Fiesta Bowl representatives celebrated these educators who go above and beyond every day. We are deeply grateful to our students for lifting up their teachers, and to Fiesta Bowl Charities for investing in those who shape the future.

This past Saturday, the Aztec and Coyote Community Coalitions, in partnership with the Tolleson Community Coalition, came together to host a beautiful Mother’s Day celebration honoring the amazing women in our community.

The event was more than a celebration—it was a powerful reflection of our Kids at Hope "Community and Service" time travel destination, with students stepping up to give back in meaningful ways. From helping with setup to showing appreciation through acts of service, our students exemplified what it means to be connected, thoughtful members of their community.

A special thank you to Ms. Rachel Segovia (PHG Counselor and JAG teacher) and Sgt. Obed Gaytan (SRO for PHG and AZD) for their dedication and leadership in making the event a success.

To all the staff, students, and volunteers who made this celebration possible—thank you for reminding us of the power of unity, love, and service.
