Stinson M.S. Principal's Corner
March 2026
Message from the Principal
Dear Skyhawk Families,
We want to wish everyone a relaxing and safe Spring Break. As we approach the final weeks of school, having the week off to re-energize is well deserved. Students have a holiday on March 16, so we look forward to seeing students on Tuesday, March 17th.
A reminder that our annual Spring Fling is scheduled on Friday, March 20th! Thank you to our PTA for spearheading this family and community event. Please see flier below for details. Due to construction, we are asking families/guests to park in the "parent pick up" parking lot which is located by the football field. Students may purchase concession tickets beginning Tuesday, March 17th, and tickets will also be sold at the event. This year we will have 3 Food Trucks, and they will take cards and cash. We will also have a few outside vendors who will accept cards and cash.
Hope to see you all at our Spring Fling and enjoy spring break to the fullest!
With Skyhawk Pride,
Lou Medina, Principal

Delivery of Items - New Procedure for 2025-2026
Deliveries of any kind will not be accepted on the campus. This includes, but is not limited to food, flowers, or balloons. These and any other type of delivery are a safety and security concern and will not be permitted on the campus.
AWAY FOR THE DAY - NEW POLICY
In accordance with HB 1481, students will be required to put away all phones, iPads, and gaming units when they are on campus at all times after the 8:30 a.m. bell and until the bell rings at 3:55 p.m. Electronic devices interfere with the focus of learning. This will be a shift in practices, but the distractions of social media, texting, and playing games need to be removed from campus.
House Bill 1481 takes effect this school year and requires all Texas school districts to prohibit students from using "personal wireless communication devices," which the law defines as “any wireless electronic communication device, other than a device provided to students by a school for instructional purposes, capable of transmitting and/or receiving data.”

Want to create a Parent Schoology Account?
The District utilizes two robust Learning Management Systems (LMS) that provide a connection between teachers, students, and parents.
Seesaw is used for students in grades PK-1 and Schoology is used for students in grades 2-12. With a Seesaw or Schoology parent account, you can access some of your child’s course assignments and grades, have direct messaging access to assigned teachers, and more. If you don’t already have a parent account, you can create one.
Here are the directions to create a Schoology Parent account.
