Horticulture/Floriculture, figure out the variety and cultivar of your plants, you’ll need that for fair. Every year this is an issue.

Read, read and re-read the fairbook. It is your best source of information (besides your favorite County Extension Staff).

READ THE FAIRBOOK, MAKE IT YOUR FAVORITE READING MATERIAL. BRINGING FOODS,? READ THE HEALTHY LIFESTYE SECTION, BRINGING PHOTOGRAPHY? CHECK OUT THE COMMUNICATIONS AND EXPRESSIVE ARTS SECTION. STILL NEED SOME HELP? CALL TAMMY 402-987-2140.

Angela has created a video that can help you out understanding the fairbook and the entry process. Check it out on our Facebook page!

Wristbands - The wristbands in the packet are for our 4-H'ers and Cloverkids. It gives them free entrance to the Tractor Pull and the Bull Riding events. (it does not include the Ryan Hurd Concert). One you put it on and tighten the bead it doesn't come off!!! BEWARE!!!!

Don’t forget you need to know the cultivars on your entries. Pre-enter prior to august 3rd or bring the printed entry form with your entries on Wednesday morning.

Livestock Check-in

Wednesday, August 3rd, from 5:30 - 8:00 pm is check-in day at the fair. Before you unload your livestock trailer, please stop by the livestock office and check-in. In order to verify exhibitors and livestock that are on the fairgrounds. This will help us with correct stall assignments and correct show programs. Reminder: Swine ear tags need to be purchased for $3.00 each at the time of check-in.

Stalling Horses - The Dakota~Thurston County Fairboard voted in 2010: That if a horse is showed it must be stalled. No veterinarian excuses will be accepted. This applies to all horses exhibiting at the 4-H Horse Show, no expectations. Horses must be stalled at the fairgrounds on Wednesday August 3rd, by 8:00 PM

4-H/FFA, Open Class (except cats, dogs, household pets/birds) will remain on the grounds for the duration of the fair. No early releases. Also see page 29 for the following statement from the Fair Board: Penalty– Premiums will be pulled for exhibits leaving the fairgrounds prior to the aforementioned release time.

No early release of animals

Rabbit/Poultry Exhibitors
When you enter your animals Wednesday, August 3rd , from 5:30 - 8:00 PM we are asking that you check your animals in with either the superintendents or Extension Staff. We want to try and ensure that our show programs are accurate. Your assistance on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Bedding For Livestock
Once again the Fairboard will be providing bedding for stalls. You are responsible for cleaning your pens, removing soiled bedding to the dump area. Remember to not just dump at the opening of the dump area, as the fair goes on, then others aren’t able to push their wheelbarrows into the dump area.

Volunteers

Help is needed in the Exhibit hall - In the morning help, check in kids, paper wrangling, ribbon attachment, After lunch, help displaying and exhibiting items. Please contact the office to volunteer.
