Last Thursday we had a wonderful performance from Ms. Orquiola's class and Ms. Fukunaga's class! The smiles filled the room along with their sweet voices.

In between the songs, Aja handed out 3 honorary service awards (HSA) to PTA members that are parent volunteers at Arlington. Each of the ladies Mrs. Shoko Nelson, Mrs. Elisabeth Hosmer and Mrs. Jenn Chun have added so much to the school and the community! Congrats to each of them!

The 5th grader parents ran the snack booth. The popcorn was SO yummy 🍿!

Monday morning at our school assembly we handed out 1 more special honorary service award!

(Every Monday the kids start the morning with an assembly on the blacktop)

Congrats to....Kacie Ito! Thank you Kacie for all your dedication towards Arlington.

Arlington's Bike Rodeo is on March 12, 2026!

***This event is ONLY for 3rd-5th graders. HELMETS ARE REQUIRED.

Please look for a hardcopy parent/guardian letter and permission slip that will be sent home from your students' teachers.

We are also looking for volunteers. If you are interested and are RAPTOR cleared please reach out to the Bike Rodeo Chair.

The last Friday of the month, some of our 5th graders stay after school for a club we call 5 STAR. The goal is for them to be together and learn 5 different pillars of character.

This month, we focused on CITIZENSHIP. We had Sharon Kalani, a Torrance council member, come and share with about 50 of our 5th graders about: compassion, perseverance, kindness, and community awareness. During the Q&A time, Ms. Kalani gave encouragement about working hard, tying your passions into problem-solving solutions, are caring for others and your city.

The wrap up the afternoon, we had an activity. The students each wrote a kind and uplifting card to our Arlington neighbors and we will have the chance to pass them out at our next 5 star meeting!

Of course we had to have snacks - popsicles and chips!
