Happy October, Spartan Families!

September is officially behind us, and this short 3-day week flew by! Our sports teams are in full swing, and some photos from the past week are included. Clubs and intramurals are also underway, and it’s not too late to join in. See the registration info below to get involved.

A quick reminder: in observance of Yom Kippur on Thursday and with no school for students on Friday, we’ll enjoy a four-day weekend. Our RTMSD October Smore is included in this mailing, highlighting a variety of holidays celebrated across the district.

Please check Schoology and HAC to monitor your child’s academic progress. We’re nearing the halfway point of Marking Period 1, and this week we ran the first academic eligibility reports to ensure our student-athletes are staying on track.

Enjoy the long holiday weekend!

Sincerely,
Ryan Buterbaugh

As part of the Rose Tree Media School District’s strategic planning process, we are updating our mission and vision statements to reflect the values and aspirations of our community. Your voice is essential in this work.

We invite staff, parents, and guardians to complete a brief Google Form to share your perspectives on what makes our district unique, what experiences every student should have each day, and what qualities we hope to see in our graduates. Your input will directly inform the development of mission and vision statements that guide our work now and in the future.

Please take a few minutes to complete the Google Form here: RTMSD Mission & Vision

Thank you for partnering with us to shape the future of Rose Tree Media School District.

To support student safety, we will hold a school lockdown drill on Tuesday, October 7. The Upper Providence Township Police Department will observe and provide feedback. Students will watch a short video beforehand and receive reminders on Monday. While drills can feel unsettling, they help students learn safety procedures and how to respond in an emergency.

To keep classrooms focused and learning uninterrupted, all wireless devices, including cell phones, smart watches, earbuds, and similar devices, must be OFF and AWAY during the school day unless a teacher gives a specific academic reason to use them. Students will be reminded each morning to power down their devices.

Please let your child know that you will not be texting or calling during school hours. If a student needs to reach a parent, a staff member can provide permission. In an emergency, the main office is the best way to get in touch. More details are available in the Springton Lake Student Handbook.

Thank you for helping us create a safe, distraction-free learning environment!
