What are my 2019-2020 Accountability Ratings and School Improvement Labels?
Campuses identified for comprehensive support and improvement, targeted support and improvement, and additional targeted support in 2019 maintain that label and interventions for the 2020-21. The methodology used to identify campuses for Targeted Support and Improvement or Additional Targeted Support has been updated to exclude the all students group. Any campus that was identified as Targeted Support and Improvement or Additional Targeted Support in 2019 solely on the performance of its all students group is removed from the 2020–21 school improvement lists.
See performance Reporting Weekly Bulletin below for more details.

Dear Colleague,
Earlier this week, fee waiver codes for the weekend SAT® were uploaded to the K–12 reporting portal. The fee waiver codes can be distributed to students for use starting with the September SAT administration. The registration deadline for the September SAT is August 26.
To access the K–12 reporting portal:
•Sign in. Be sure your access isn't set to expire soon.
•If you haven't accessed the K–12 reporting portal before, you'll need two things:
◦A College Board professional account. If you don't have an account, create one now.
◦Permission from your access manager for summary or detail access. Every approved site with an assigned six-digit or AI code has an access manager.
Fee waiver codes will be available via an Excel spreadsheet, called 2020 SAT Fee Waiver Codes, on the downloads page of the K–12 reporting portal. Note: Paper fee waiver cards from previous school year allotments are still valid and can be distributed to students.
For more information about the K–12 reporting portal, visit our help page. You can also view our SAT fee waiver information page for details about eligibility and benefits. Please contact Customer Service at 888-SAT-HELP if you have additional questions.
Thank you for ensuring your eligible students have access to their fee waiver benefits.
Sincerely,
College Board
SSI Clarification from Student Assessment
To clarify, below are the Student Success Initiative (SSI) requirements that are and are not waived for the 2020–2021 school year.
WAIVED
· promotion/retention requirements
· retest provisions (3 opportunities to pass the test)
NOT WAIVED
· beginning-of-year notice
· 10-day reporting of students’ results for TEA
· accelerated instruction (including notice of results)
· end-of-year notice
For the three types of notices that need to be provided, the requirements (and clarification) can be found in TAC, §101.2009 .
The beginning-of-year notice is described in subsection (a).
(a) The superintendent of each school district or chief administrative officer of each charter school shall notify parents or guardians of the grade advancement requirements at the beginning of the school year.
The notice of results and accelerated instruction is described in subsection (b).
(b) The district shall provide early notice to parents or guardians of students identified in a preceding grade to be at risk of failure on the first administration of the assessment required for grade advancement the next year. The superintendent must establish the instruments/procedures to be used to make this determination. This notice shall include accelerated instruction participation requirements as stipulated by §101.2006 of this title (relating to Accelerated Instruction) and be provided before the end of the school year preceding the grade advancement requirements.
The beginning-of-year notice is described in subsection (a).
The end-of-year notice is described in subsection (c).
(c) The district shall establish procedures to notify the parent or guardian of a student who has failed to demonstrate proficiency on the first administration of a grade advancement assessment. This notification should be made within five working days of district receipt of student assessment results from this administration. This notice shall include the student's assessment results, a description of the grade advancement policy, the required accelerated instruction to which the student has been assigned under §101.2006 of this title, and the possibility that the student might be retained at the same grade level for the next school year. In addition, the notice shall encourage parents or guardians to meet immediately with the student's teacher to outline mutual responsibilities to support the student during accelerated instruction.
If districts have not yet sent out the end-of-year notice to students who are at-risk, they need to do so.

What’s New in Performance Reporting
A–F Accountability
Performance Reporting released the following products this week.
Product/ Description/ Location
College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) Verifier/ Corrections system within the TEA Login (TEAL) Accountability application containing a list of 2018–19 annual graduates plus non-graduating 12th graders and CCMR outcomes.
Districts have through October 1 to electronically submit documentation for updates to student records. Click here for additional information./ TEAL Accountability
CCMR Tracker/ Tracking tool within the TEAL Accountability application that provides districts with an early preview of CCMR status for students who were in grades 9–12 during school year 2019–20. Outcomes provided are as of the 2018–19 school year. This is lagging data.
No corrections will be submitted to TEA; this report is for informational purposes only. If districts find errors, they are encouraged to work with testing vendors to make corrections prior to the student’s graduation. Click here for additional information. /TEAL Accountability
Postsecondary Outcomes Report/ Report showing postsecondary outcomes, including the percentage of graduates who earned any two-year or four-year degree, a Level I or Level II certificate, or an industry-based certification for districts and campuses with 2011 graduates.
Please note that while previous communications indicated that the Public Education Grant (PEG) List would be released on August 14th, to reduce unnecessary communication to districts, the official release will be pushed to later this fall. As stated in the 2020 Accountability Manual, “…because ratings were not issued in 2020, the campuses identified for PEG based on 2019 ratings will remain on the 2021–22 PEG List.”
Local Accountability System
Due to COVID-19-related uncertainty about school schedules, the local accountability team is adopting a flexible approach to district development of a local accountability plan. The Local Accountability Guide provides information about plan requirement and example components.
Districts wishing to learn more about the local accountability system and how to develop a district local accountability plan can participant in an hour-long overview webinar with time for Q & A.

This Week’s FAQ
One of our campuses was Comprehensive Reidentified last year and is now Comprehensive Progress, one was Targeted Support and Improvement and is no longer identified, and another was Additional Targeted Support and is no longer identified. How did this happen?
A campus may have its 2020–21 label updated from Comprehensive Reidentified to Comprehensive Progress based on revised exit criteria. As adopted in Chapter 10 of the 2020 Accountability Manual, campuses that do not rank in the bottom five percent of the Closing the Gaps domain for two consecutive years and have increased a letter grade (for example, from F to D or from D to C) on the Closing the Gaps domain by the end of the second year are considered as having successfully exited comprehensive support and improvement status. Any campus identified as comprehensive in 2018 that was no longer in the bottom five percent, but still received an F rating in Closing the Gaps for 2019, is considered as having met the exit criteria for one year and is labeled as Comprehensive Progress for 2020–21.
Also, Additional Targeted Support identification is solely based on 2019 accountability outcomes; 2018 is not considered due to the change in methodology. Due to this change, all campuses currently identified as Additional Targeted Support are Year 1 campuses.
