Spring Conferences-March 20th & 21st! Spring Conferences-March 20th & 21st!

March conferences are almost here! For our spring conferences our kindergarten students will be taking charge and leading their parents through different stations to show their growth when it is in person. If you are doing a virtual conference, your child will still lead you through with the materials sent home. This is a great experience for our students, they will wow you with their growth!

***Early Childhood and WELE will follow the same format as our fall conferences. EC/WELE students should not attend their conference, only parents need to attend.

Conferences are a vital way to make a connection between home and school. Students love to share their work and we are proud of how much growth we have seen since the beginning of the year!

Please arrive on time (in person) or log on at your assigned time so your child is able to share all of his/her work with you. Thank you!

***Please note that on both days we have early release at 10:40 a.m. EC/WELE PM attends on March 20th and AM attends on March 21st.

Kids Heart Challenge Update Kids Heart Challenge Update

Woodland Primary School held its 12th annual Kids Heart Challenge (formerly Jump Rope for Heart) fundraiser in February to support the American Heart Association. Kids Heart Challenge raises money for the American Heart Association, which uses the donations for heart disease and stroke research, CPR/AED training, and public education and awareness.

Our students also greatly benefit on a school wide level by learning a great deal about how their heart works, why it is important to make healthy lifestyle choices, and how to make their heart stronger through exercise and proper nutrition.

Our final total raised this year was $5,082.06! As a result of this AMAZING total, our PE department will earn $500 in gift certificates to U.S. Games (a PE equipment supplier). This will enable us to purchase new equipment for all students to utilize in our gym for years to come!

The PE department would like to thank all of our students and their families, staff members, and community members who helped make the 2024 Kids Heart Challenge fundraiser a great success!

Our top 3 fundraisers this year were:

Grayson from Mrs. Beaudry's class with $646.25 raised.

Ben from Mrs. Monterroso's class with $444.64 raised.

Cameron from Mrs. Vivas' class with $366.38 raised.

In total, Woodland Primary School has now raised $113,813.07 for the American Heart Association since our first fundraiser in 2012! Awesome job, Primary Wildcats! Thank you!

Thankful for our Social Workers! Thankful for our Social Workers!

We are excited to celebrate our Social Workers, Ms. Zavala and Mrs. Hyatt, through the month of March and especially next week on March 19th because it is National Social Work Appreciation. The positive contributions our social workers make to our students and their families is critical. They are a consistent support that makes a difference every day. These highly trained professionals respond to students in crisis, support families with resources and information and service students to provide strategies and interventions to help them be successful. Thank you, Ms. Zavala and Mrs. Hyatt!

Let's Keep Going! We just reached 20%! Let's Keep Going! We just reached 20%!

Thank you for helping us reach 20%! But, we would love to have all of our families weigh in on how we're doing as a school. We want to be the best we can be and your feedback helps us know what we're doing right and areas for growth.
