We are off to a wonderful start to the school year after our first full week! Morning recess has been a huge hit with our students, and I love seeing them enjoying time together, building friendships, and starting their day with energy and excitement.

Our dismissal procedures are also becoming more efficient each day. We are now finishing dismissal by approximately 3:15 p.m. The gates at the back of the school will be closed at 3:15 p.m. If you arrive after that time to pick up your child, you will need to come to the front entrance and sign your child out through the office.

Please mark your calendars for September 10th from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for our Open House and Annual Title I Meeting. We look forward to welcoming families into our school and sharing information about the exciting year ahead.

Thank you for your continued support. We are looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, growth, and success together! 💙💛

Learning in Classroom Circles

If you would like to reinforce the lessons on Follow Directions we recommend 4 popular kids books that could lead to great discussions. These could also probably be found on utube as well Joshua Disobeys by Vollmer, Miss Nelson is Missing by Allard, No Jumping on the bed by Arnold, and Angela's Airplane by Monsch Sample Qs: What was one direction given in the story? Did the main character follow the direction? Why do you think the adult gave that direction?

The Goal: Remind students the teacher's has two main jobs at school-Keep us Safe and Help us Learn. Teachers use directions to accomplish this goal. By following directions from teachers it helps us to learn and be safe.

Summary/Key Phrase: When teacher gives a direction We follow directions RIGHT AWAY

If you would like to reinforce the lessons on Paying Attention we recommend 4 popular kids books that could lead to great discussions. These could also probably be found on utube as well Look out, Patrick by Geraghly, Come Along, Daisy by Simmons, Pay Attention, Emily Brown! by Burton, and Brown bear, Brown bear, What do you see? by Martin Jr. Sample Qs: Did the main character pay attention? What happened because they weren't paying attention? In order to learn and stay safe we need to pay attention.

The Goal: Remind students we pay attention with our eyes and ears but not our mouths. When we pay attention we watch and listen but we do not talk.
