Launch Your Future: Apprenticeship Opportunities
We are excited to share a new resource at our school designed to help your student discover high-paying, debt-free career paths.
We have recently installed an Apprenticeship Wall in our school hallway. This interactive display introduces students to 12 to 18 high-demand career opportunities in the skilled trades, including electrical work, welding, HVAC, and construction.
How it works:
Each career listed on the wall features two interactive QR codes that students can scan with their phones:
- Video QR Code: Connects students to a short "day in the life" video showing what the job is actually like.
- Application QR Code: Links directly to local union and employer apprenticeship applications.
Why this matters:
Registered apprenticeships offer an incredible "earn while you learn" model. Students can enter the workforce immediately after graduation, receive paid on-the-job training, and build a successful career without taking on college student loan debt.
We encourage you to talk to your student about the trades and ask them if they’ve checked out the new Apprenticeship Wall.
Counseling Department Update
Student who would like to discuss their class schedules with their counselor should use the following to instructions:
Schedule change options:
Option 1:
Use the link or scan the QR code to fill out the Google Class Change Request Form. A counselor will correspond with you via email. No in-person appointment needed. https://forms.gle/rksrEhbE6kKyfacf9
Option 2:
For an in-person appointment, please use the link or scan the QR code to set up an appointment. In-person appointments are only necessary for changes that cannot be made through the Google Class Change Request Form. Examples of this would include: a need for a large number of changes, changes to support major shifts in postsecondary goals, or dropping/adding academic classes, etc. Appointments will begin August 24th.

Student/Parent Handbook
We encourage both parents and students to read the student handbook carefully. It provides important information about school expectations, rules, and available resources, helping everyone understand their rights, responsibilities, and how to create a safe, respectful, and successful learning environment together. Click on the link below to access the WHS Student Handbook.
