September is Attendance Awareness Month. Did you know that absenteeism in the first month of school can predict poor attendance throughout the school year? Half of the students who miss 2-4 days in September go on to miss nearly a month of school, making themselves chronically absent. Please have your students attend school unless they are sick, and if they are absent, communicate this with the front office at roadrunners@glnd.k12.va.us.

Cub Scouts is starting! Please be sure to check out the attached flyer for information on how to be a part of Pack 710!

A six-module interactive parenting workshop brought to you by Goochland Department of Social Services is free to families. See attached for more information.

Randolph Families,

Our current Fever/COVID Protocol:

  • If your child develops a fever, we recommend that they be seen by a physician and/or perform a COVID test. All students and staff must be 24 hours fever-free without the use of fever reducing medications before returning to school.
  • If your child tests positive for COVID, they will need to isolate for 5 days from either the onset of symptoms or the positive test (whichever came first). We then recommend that they wear a well fitting mask for an additional 5 days. We are no longer requiring quarantines for those exposed.

Please reach out to me with any questions that you may have,

Heather Usry, RN
