Thank you to the many families who joined our Summer Kick Off event on Monday! We had a great turnout and lucked out with the rain holding off. Thanks also to the Randolph Rotary Club who sponsored a summer reading book for every student. If you didn't make it on Monday, students should be bringing home their books today.

One way to support Braintree is to tend our garden beds over the summer. Volunteers visit ~2 times during the week to complete any necessary watering or weeding. Without family support to maintain the gardens, there will be no produce or flowers in the fall. Please consider taking on a week!

Love graphic novels? Crazy about cartoons and comics? Come work with Ashley Jablonski, a

teacher and graduate of The Center of Cartoon Studies. Ashley will teach the basics of comics;

including story-writing, character and world building, panels, and so on. Each participant will

design a comic of their own to copy and share with others in the workshop. We will also learn

how to fold the comics into a small zine/comic, and there will be examples of how other

cartoonists make comics and zines. Ashley will also bring some of her work to show.

This is a series of two Sunday afternoon workshops, free of charge, to be held on Sunday June

18th and Sunday June 25th, from 5:00-6:30 pm at the Brookfield Old Town Hall. The second

workshop will build on the skills of the first. Both are hosted by the Brookfield Free Public Library

who will provide all the necessary materials. People aged 9 and above are invited to attend!
