Note From Principal Favero
Dear RedHawk Families,
Another exciting week has come and gone in our 2025–2026 school year! The time we share with our students moves quickly, and while some weeks feel faster than others, we truly treasure each day spent building connections, supporting growth as learners, and helping them discover their potential.
In just these past two weeks, students have embraced what it means to be a RedHawk, made new friends, navigated lockers, and successfully managed four different schedules (two i-Ready schedules, early release, and our regular one!). Along the way, there have been both challenges and successes—but through it all, our students continue to show resilience and grit. They are diving into curriculum, reading poetry, exploring math transformations, conducting experiments, and so much more. We are incredibly proud of their energy, effort, and enthusiasm for learning.
A heartfelt thank-you to all of our families who joined us for Back to School Night this past Tuesday and Wednesday. These evenings gave teachers the chance to connect with you and share the exciting topics your children will explore this year. We are so grateful for your time, partnership, and support. At Wredling, we believe our school is a community—students, families, and staff all working together to ensure our learners thrive. If you have any follow-up questions from Back to School Night, please don’t hesitate to reach out directly to your child’s teachers.
Enjoy the long weekend with your families—we look forward to welcoming our RedHawks back, rested and ready, next week!
Proud to be a RedHawk,
Francesca Favero, Principal

Parent/Guardian Resource Form - 2025-2026
The Parent/Guardian Resource Form is now open for the 2025-26 school year. Families can complete this form to request support, such as Big Hearts of Fox Valley holiday programming or Thanksgiving meals. The form will close on September 12th.
Important Rules for Attending High School Athletic Events this Fall
High school football games are starting soon!
No backpacks, bags, or outside food or drinks are allowed. Only small bags (8x6 or smaller) will be permitted, and all bags are subject to search.
Students need to bring their student id to enter.
These games are official school events and are considered an extension of the school day, so behavior expectations still apply.
Middle school students must be with a parent or guardian at all times while inside the stadium.
There is no re-entry once someone leaves the stadium.
Not allowed: profanity, taunting (including racial or inappropriate remarks), throwing objects, or bringing anything that blocks the view of others.
If a student is asked by staff to provide their name and school, they are expected to respond honestly and respectfully. All workers—whether staff or event personnel—should be treated with respect at all times
Notes from the Office
QC label in Schoology
This year, you may notice some of your student's assignments labeled "QC" in the Schoology gradebook. The "QC" stands for "Quick Check," and is meant to be a formative assessment of your child's performance on identified standards. This means the assignment is a helpful indicator of your child's understanding of the particular standards at the time of the assignment and could have some predictive value of their performance on similar questions on the summative assessment for that unit.
New Attendance Policy 2025-2026
At Wredling, we are dedicated to supporting each student’s academic and personal growth. Consistent attendance is one of the most important factors in helping students stay engaged, connected, and successful. We truly appreciate your partnership in ensuring your student is present and ready to learn each day.
There are new attendance policies and procedures for the 2025-2026 school year that can be found in your student’s handbook beginning on page 11. We have updated our infographics (see below) to reflect these changes, but we would like to direct your attention to the biggest changes:
- Defined tardies: Minutes 1–6 late will result in a tardy. An extended tardy will be applied if the student is 7 or more minutes late to school or class.
- 8 excused absences: Once a student has reached 8 excused absences, a staff member may reach out to help problem-solve and offer support.
- 10 full-day absences: Once a student has accumulated 10 full-day absences, a medical note will be required for all absences to be excused. *See handbook for specific requirements of the medical note on pg. 14.
- Problem-solving meetings: All students will be required to have a problem-solving meeting with building staff to address attendance concerns. At this time, a parent/guardian may be asked to participate in the conference.
- No more pre-arranged absences: Vacations during school days are discouraged and will be considered unexcused.
If you have specific concerns regarding your student as it relates to attendance, please reach out directly your student’s Student Support Counselor/Dean:
