Welcome Back Eagles!

Welcome Back Watertown Middle School Families!

We are looking forward to seeing you all on the first day of school, September 2, 2025! I hope you all had a great summer! I had a great summer spending a lot of time with family and friends in Wells, Maine. This year my oldest son will start his sophomore year at UMASS Lowell, my middle son is going to be a senior at Newton North, and he will be joined by my littlest who will be starting as a freshmen! Nurse Lori had an exciting adventure with her family in Acadia National Park and went camping in the Berkshires. We are excited to see all of your faces the first week of school - so please stop by!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Medication Drop Off

For those students who will be receiving scheduled medications during the school day a parent/guardian will need to bring in the medication along with the signed form that is attached below. The medication also needs to be accompanied by a print out of the clinician's order for the prescribed medication. The medication itself must be in its original packaging and labeled with the student's name. Please note- students are NOT allowed to bring in the medications themselves!

Emergency Medications

If your child has a life threatening allergy requiring Epipen use, Asthma requiring inhaler use, Seizure history requiring rescue medication, or Diabetes, all medical information needs to be up to date in the Nurse's Office.

What does This Mean?

Anaphylaxis Action Plan and Epi Pen

Asthma Action Plan and Inhaler

Seizure Action Plan and Medication

Diabetic Care Plan and Supplies

Please come by on the first day of school to drop off emergency medications along with the corresponding action plans. The action plans must be up to date and not expired. Emergency medications need to be in the original packaging with the student's name on the package.

Students with Diabetic Care Plans should plan on bringing: Extra supplies (glucose and ketone strips), extra pods, needles, insulin to be stored in the nurse's office, and snacks that are consistent with those outlined in the care plan.

Over the Counter Medications

During the year, your child might need an over the counter medication like Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Attached below is a consent form allowing these medications to be administered. Please read through and denote which medications are safe and acceptable for your child. Your student can return this form to the nurse's office on the first day of school.

Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns,
