Winthrop WeeklyApril 15th, 2026

To our Winthrop Families and Caretakers,

We want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible effort our students have put into the ELA MCAS over the past couple of weeks. Their focus and determination have been truly impressive, and we are so proud of the hard work they’ve displayed. We also want to extend a sincere thank you to all of you; your encouragement and support at home make a world of difference in your child's confidence and success.

We wanted to remind you we have the 5th grade musical show this Thursday, April 16th @ 7:00p.m. Best of luck to all of our fifth graders.

As we head into the break, we hope you have a wonderful, relaxing vacation week with your families. We look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready to learn when we return!

Thursday, May 14th | 5-7 PM | Ipswich Middle/High School Lower Gym | Free. No registration required.

Somewhere between a first grader discovering why things sink and a high schooler firing up a plasma demonstration, something shifts. This isn't a science fair. It's two hours inside a room where curiosity is the only credential required.

The STEAM Showcase returns on May 14th for its ninth year with the most ambitious lineup yet. Engineers, farmers, cybersecurity experts, and conservationists from across the North Shore will be on the floor alongside Ipswich students from PreK through 12th grade.

Come to drive a solar-powered go-kart built by a sixth grader. Stay to watch a live chemical reaction, handle a strawberry's extracted DNA, and hear high schoolers walk through fieldwork they did in Yellowstone. Leave wondering what else these kids have been up to.

Don’t miss this celebration of student ideas in action. For more info, contact Dr. Tracy Wagner at twagner@ipsk12.net.

In this workshop, participants will meet Jennifer Welborn, the author of Dr. Rosie Helps

the Animals, a story based on real-world veterinarians and includes lots of science to
