PES Monthly Memo
June 2024
The School Year is Over...
I would like to thank everyone for making the 23-24 school year a success. We learned a lot and made many memories. Have a safe, happy, healthy summer, and we will see everyone in the fall!

🌞 4th Grade Visits the Skycarps ⚾
On May 8, the fourth grade classes visited were able to attend a Beloit Sky Carps baseball game. The game was a culmination after participating in a reading program sponsored by the organization. The weather was perfect and everyone had a blast.
Preschool Activities
Mrs. Sneek's Early Childhood/Preschool classes had A LOT of fun things going on during the month of May. Among those activities were preschool class concerts, ice cream day, Sumner Park field trip, and waffle day.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 💭💭
Mrs. Garcia's finished their weather unit with a Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs room flip! Students conducted a science experiment on how much moisture clouds can hold before releasing as rain. We also did some measurement activities with spaghetti.
Fun with Mrs. Dulaney's Class
During the month of May, Mrs. Dulaney's class celebrated bubble day. Students and staff participated in fun bubble themed activities. In addition to Bubble day, students also created a memory book to remember their kindergarten year, they flew kites, and made flower bouquets for Mother's Day.
14 Day Countdown
Mrs. DeLaGarza's first grade class celebrated the end of the year by utilizing a countdown for the last 14 days of school. Each day a student was able to pop a balloon to determine the theme for the day. The kids had a ton of fun!
Monster Exchange
Every year, PES students from Mrs. Hamblock's art classes draw monsters and send them to Mrs. Krantz's high school art class. The high school students then create three-dimensional representations in the form of stuffed creations based on the the elementary student drawings. This year's exchange did not disappoint. Book Donation to PES Library
PHS Junior Anna Munson was a finalist in the Rockford Women's Club Creative Writing Competition. As a twist for the competition's 99th anniversary, the Rockford Women's Club gave each finalist books to donate to their respective elementary school. On May 16, Miss Munson and a Women's Club representative donated the books to PES librarian Dee Hickman. Thank you, Anna, for your donation and congratulations on being a finalist!
