zoom_out_map

Greetings, Warrior Families!

So many wonderful things are happening on campus, I want to take a moment to acknowledge several student groups.

First, congratulations and best of luck to our swimmers and wrestlers who advanced to the UIL Regional competition! We want to wish them best of luck competition this weekend! Swimming compete in San Antonio at the Southwest ISD Aquatics Complex, while Wrestling will be competing at the Delco Center in Austin! Go Warriors!

Next, best of luck to our Warrior Cheer team who is heading off to compete in their first ever National Level Cheer Competition at ESPN's Wide World of Sports at Disney World in Orlando Florida. What an awesome experience and a first for our program.

We held a sendoff this week for Giada Liccardi as she heads to the TMEA All-State convention to perform as one of the top 3% of all instrumental musicians in the State of Texas. Specifically, Giada placed 3rd in the state on her instrument. CONGRATULATIONS to Giada Liccardi for this first ever accomplishment for the Band of Warriors!

Lastly, just a quick reminder that this upcoming week our students will have a student holiday on Thursday (2/15), Friday (2/16), and Monday (2/19) in observance of President's Day!

Thank you for all you do!

With Warrior Pride,

Jaime Alvarez-Calderon

NOTE FROM OUR ATTENDANCE OFFICE NOTE FROM OUR ATTENDANCE OFFICE

Attend Today! Achieve Today, Tomorrow, and Beyond!

Each Day Counts and Everyday Matters!

On January 18th of this year the U.S. Department of Education identified increasing student attendance as a top priority for states, districts, and schools to address lagging student academic achievement and student well-being following the pandemic. This focus on reducing chronic absenteeism is part of the Improving Student Achievement Agenda, announced by the department and the White House Domestic Policy Council.

The announcement highlighted research showing that targeted parent and family engagement—such as home visits, the adoption of early warning intervention systems, and the effective use of data and family engagement to identify why a student is absent can significantly increase student attendance and impact academic achievement.

Stay tuned to what Comal ISD is doing to help increase student attendance!

Protocol for Students not Feeling Well Protocol for Students not Feeling Well

  • Please remember students must be fever free (less than 100.0)for 24 hrs before returning to campus, without the use of fever reducing medications.

  • Just because your student leaves campus from the clinic, it doesn't mean his/her absence is nurse excused! The nurse will let you know if the student is being sent home or if it is a parent request absence when they speak with the parent. If you havent spoken with a nurse, feel free to call 830 885 9712 or 9745 to reach us.

  • Please continue to report covid + test results.

  • If your student has a Telehealth visit or Telemental health visit scheduled during school hours, a parent must be present. Students should plan to be checked out for their doctor/counselor visits and then may return once it has concluded.

  • Students should not carry any medications with them, unless an epipen/keychain meds, diabetes supplies, or asthma inhaler if MD authorization has been provided to the clinic yearly. Please contact the clinic if your student needs any medications during the day so arrangements can be made to leave it at school.
