BEAR MAIL
Friday August 21st.
Message from Principal Fippin
Hello Everyone,
Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for Back to School Night! It was wonderful to connect with so many of our families in person. Teachers will be sending home their PowerPoint presentations for you to review. If you were unable to attend, you’ll still have the information shared that evening. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher. We’re looking forward to a fantastic year ahead!
Today was an exciting day at BCE! Our students had a wonderful time at the Dairy Farm assembly, where we all learned so much. Seeing the cows up close was a truly memorable experience for everyone. We also celebrated the hard work of those who completed their summer learning maps with some well-deserved fun!
Many of our classrooms have begun the fall diagnostic assessment, I-Ready. This valuable information helps us understand where each student is as we begin the new school year. We’re also excited to have started our intervention groups this week. It’s amazing to see so much learning and growth happening in just the first 12 days of school!
Have a great weekend,
Gerri Fippin

Summer Learning Celebration!
Dean's Corner - Mrs. Anderson
Over the last week, I've been able to visit with a lot of our classes to talk with students about all of the staff members at BCE who are here to support them. We talked about what it looks like to be safe at recess, and who they can ask for help when they need to solve a problem. Students also got to share ideas of what they'd like to see at the Bear Paw Store where they get to "spend" their Bear Paws! I'm looking forward to visiting with the rest of our classes next week!
Our first Bear Paw Store is on September 11th. If you'd like to help, you can take a look at our Amazon Wish List. Thank you for helping us celebrate and encourage BCE Bears! Big thanks to our Parents Club for volunteering to run the Bear Paw Store - this event doesn't happen without you!

PBIS
Positive Behavior Support will continue to be a major focus at BCE this year. We will talk about the BCE Way in August. We are learning how to be safe, be respectful, be kind, and be responsible all over our campus. Please ask your student how they are practicing the BCE Way.
Don't Forget the Rules for Drop off and Pick up
Drop Off and Pick Up
We have had several issues the past couple of weeks at both drop off and pick up. Please know that all of us out at the cross walk are only trying to keep our students and families safe. I wanted to remind everyone to please first be Kind and Patient. Here are a few reminders about pick up and drop off
- You can drop off on either side of Laurel Street.
- You can NOT drop off coming up on Lomond street.
- You can only leave your car in designated parking spots on Laurel street.
- Make sure you are not parking in front of our neighbors drive ways
- On Lomond Street, you need to park in the right direction. Buses are not able to get through when cars are away from the side and parked in the wrong direction.
- When walking down Lomond Street please use the sidewalk. We have had a few close calls with kids and parents walking in the center of the street.
Thank you everyone for helping ensure safety of all of our students. Below is the parking map again for reference.
Food Services and Bus Passes
We will continue to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students this year. We do ask that you complete the application on the district webpage. It is very important that ALL families complete this form, as it helps us with funding in several different areas.
If your child will be riding the bus this year and will need a bus pass, please make sure you purchase your bus pass online here. Once you log in to LinqConnect you will see "School Store" on the bottom right hand corn. Click that to buy your pass. Any questions contact the transportation department at 831-336-2223
Please also complete the following form for all students riding the bus.
