Fall Schedule Information

Student Schedules are now available to view in Powerschool.

If you or your student believe there is an error with his/her schedule, please complete this Google form prior to the first day of school. If we are able to accommodate your change, you will see the change reflected in Powerschool. If you do not hear back on your request, it is because the change was not possible. The change may not be possible due to capacity limits or classes not being offered every period.

Gallatin High does NOT hold Schedule Change Day before the beginning of the school year.

Our goal is to have all students attend all of their classes on the first day of school. You must continue to attend your scheduled classes while this change request is processed.

The following are appropriate reasons for requesting a schedule change:

  • Missing a required class for graduation.

  • Missing a prerequisite or are misplaced in the wrong level of class.

  • Double-booked during one period.

  • Scheduled in a course you’ve already completed.

  • Drop a class for a study hall.

Click here to check if you have any summer assignments for AP classes. Click here to check if you have any summer assignments for AP classes.

Updated Cell Phone Policy and Expectations for 2026-27

In June we shared an important message regarding updated cell phone expectations for all high school students in Bozeman Public School beginning this school year. All students who wish to use a cell phone in the school building must download and activate an app called The Commons. This app will limit student cell phone use to essential and approved functions only while at school. Please read my June message if you have not yet done so. We have shared more detailed information about how to download the app, please view those communications below:

Annual Forms

August 1st, parents/guardians were sent an email reminder to complete the Annual Student Forms. These forms are mandatory and must be done every year for each student. Fortunately, the forms now autofill with previous year's information so you just need to review the information, make any needed updates, and submit. It should only take a few minutes. By resubmitting, you help us to know you are providing us with the most recent information for your student. Please log into Powerschool and complete the forms as soon as possible.

The forms listed below need to be completed every school year for every student:

  1. Contacts and Legal Guardians
  2. Health
  3. Permissions
  4. Responsible Use of Technology
  5. Review, Acknowledgement, and Consent
  6. Title I Compact (Gallatin High, Sacajawea, Hyalite, Irving and Whittier only)

If they are not all completed by August 20th, there may be delays in scheduling.

How to Complete Forms:

The forms can be found in the PowerSchool Parent Portal.
https://bsd7.powerschool.com/public/home.html
Look for Forms in the left menu and then use the tab named General Forms.

You may also use the PowerSchool app where the forms are found under More and you may need to select General Forms from a drop-down menu.

Note: Please DO NOT complete the ADDRESS CHANGE FORM, unless you have moved this summer.

Visiting the School

If students were unable to attend Raptor Weekend and would like to walk their schedule before school starts, the building is open each week day from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This is an option and not a requirement. Freshmen will be touring the building on the first day of school and will also have a bit of time to explore as well.

First Day of School

The first day of school will be Monday, August 31st. The first day of school will have an alternative schedule. More detailed information will be sent closer to the start of school. Freshman orientation will be held in the morning and 10th-12th grade students will need to visit the school at an assigned time for school pictures and to receive their student ID. All students will attend their classes on a shortened schedule in the afternoon.

First Student will run two morning bus routes on August 31st, the first at normal school time for 9th grade students and the second later in the morning for 10th- through 12th grade students. You will receive an email from First Student with more details about route times prior to August 31st.

Tuesday, September 1st, students will begin their normal schedule on our block schedule model. Tuesday, September 1st will be a Blue day and students will attend their Black day classes on Wednesday, September 2nd. Students have a late start every Wednesday and classes begin at 9:35 a.m. To review the bell schedule or the annual Blue/Black calendar, please visit this link.

School Supplies

There is not a specific supply list for the high school. Students should bring their school issued Chromebook, a notebook, and pen on the first day of school and teachers will let them know what else they may need.

Student Dropoff, Pickup, and Parking

Please help ensure student safety by dropping off and picking up students via the East student parking lot and Annie Street. Please do not drop off or pick up students along Raptor Way as this lane is dedicated for buses and students with medical needs.

Only junior and seniors will be allowed to park on campus in student lots and parking passes are required to park on campus. We are excited to share that a new student parking lot will be available for use by juniors and seniors with parking passes. More detailed information will be shared with upperclass students eligible for a parking pass. Students with a parking pass may park in any of the three student lots, they cannot park in any staff lots.

Sophomores and freshmen are encouraged to car pool with family members. Additional parking can be found on Annie Street and along Flanders Mill Road.

Lockers

Lockers are optional for GHS students. Students, if you are interested in using a locker this year, please complete this form. The form must be completed from a student school email account.

Do Not Fill Out This Form if you signed up for a locker last year as you will use the same locker and combination this year.

Locker numbers and combinations will be uploaded into PowerSchool before school starts. Students can find their locker number and combination in PowerSchool by clicking on Forms and selecting "Locker Information".

If you have a locker assigned to you but no longer need it, please complete the form and indicate you no longer need your locker.

If you do not request a locker now and decide you’d like one in the future, please come to the main office and we will be happy to check one out to you.

Students, please click here to request a locker.

Student Chromebooks automatically connect to the district WiFi network. Students' personal devices are not able to connect to the network.

Every high school student has two user names and passwords that they need to know:

  1. Powerschool user name and password.

  2. Google email user name and password. This same combination is used for Classlink, Canvas, and Microsoft.

Updated password and account access information will be shared with students next week.
