CK Spotlight
Teacher Spotlight: Everyone!
For our teacher(s) spotlight, there are too many worthy candidates to nominate just one. We had numerous teachers dress up either in the staff theme of "Wizard of Oz / Wicked" or something connect to their classes. Students loved seeing their teachers and members of staff in costumes... including one mystery staff member below...
Class Spotlight: 5th Grade
For our class spotlight, the 5th graders worked all week on a "Haunted House Creation" project that allowed them to show their creativity along with demonstrating math and ELA concepts. Students had to decide on a theme, please a plan for the house and props and then create a shopping list (sticking to their budget for the candy). They had to plan for visitors to take selfies and they even curated a playlist and marketed the Haunted House by making a brochure. Wonderful Halloween fun!
Bonus Spotlight: CK Cheetahs
For our after-school spotlight, we want to shout out the "Run like a Cheetah" program as it moves into week two at CK. The program is run by Mary McNerney, who reported that the kids are making great strides, foremost learning proper stretches and warm up techniques. Post-warm up, the groups focused on form: pumping our arms in order to go faster during short sprints. Next, the students formed teams and raced to stack cones. Next week will be relay races!

Halloween 'Guess Who?'
In place of our parent poll, we have a 'guess who' in the form of a riddle:
I start each morning with safety in mind,
guiding small children being nice and kind.
My shirt’s made of flannel and my heart made of gold,
at lunch I help you open snacks (no matter how old).
At Mass in the vestibule, quiet and true,
Always a smile... I’m keeping an eye out for you.
I fix, I open, I guide, I laugh, I care,
when it comes to CK, I'm everywhere!
