Special Education Update

A list of all ARIN staff assigned to your building for the 2024-25 school year will be emailed to you and your administrative assistant after today's meeting! There is a hard copy in your folder.

There is a form to complete in your folder to indicate whether or not you would like to participate in the annual public notice in the Indiana Gazette (Indiana County) or Leader Times (Armstrong County). Please be sure to return the document to me by Friday, August 30th.

There are two districts scheduled for Special Education Cyclical Monitoring this year:

Armstrong November 18, 2024

Indiana April 7, 2025 .

Training for this monitoring process is designed as a series of web-based training modules. These modules will be available on the PaTTAN website and Leader Services website in late July. Relevant LEA personnel must complete the trainings and report date of completion to the Chairperson assigned to your monitoring by September 9, 2024.

September 18-29, 2024

Registration is required. Registration is available for each live session (in-person or virtual) online via the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN) at https://www.pattan.net/events/. Recorded trainings will be made available on the SBAP Website for any who are not able to attend at the time of the live training.

Meetings will be hybrid, both online and in-person, on the FIRST WEDNESDAY of the month at 9:30 AM at The Arc of Indiana County (120 N. 5th Street Indiana, Pa). Special Education Directors will be asked to sign up for one meeting during the year.
